Took the ferry over to Skagway and took the train tour. Another delightful experience Awesome views from the train.

LOVED Haines. We did this excursion: https://www.alaska.org/detail/takshanuk-mountain-trail 4WD, but kind of looked like a golf cart. Up into the mountains and a delicious dinner. Recommend 100%

Guided walking tour booked through Princess was excellent!! A must do. The weather God shined on us that day, it was perfect.

It was HOT in Haines. We were wearing tank tops. Mid-May. There was a cute town, which involved a nice short walk from the cruise ship. There was a sandy beach which the kids loved.

Okay so Haines isn’t that spectacular. Small little town that larger ships can’t get into. But it helps you really feel what Alaska is about. The ATV tour here was horrible. Not an ATV experience. They tailored it for the old I think. Rather boring. Spending time on the shore with my daughter was a blast. Lots of ocean artifacts to explore. Just watch how fast the tide rises though. The highlight of Haines was a trip out to Steve Kroschel’s wildlife park. Don’t know how to describe it but it won’t be what you expect. If you like animals up close you must do this excursion. Best valued excursion. Of our trip. Keep an open mind and have yourself some fun. “Get the picture!”

A taste of the real Alaska. Barely enough time in port to enjoy both Haines and Skagway - an overnight would provide more time to enjoy this area.

A-l-m-o-s-t a waste of time. The eagle preserve was nice, but, I question whether it's worth it because eagles are ubiquitous there. Still, I got some GREAT shots. As far as the port itself ? worthless...nothing to see - NO reason to have been there 10 hours.
