Cruise tips
We went to Freeport and it was all the way live on this island! I think the name of this place was count basie square stopped by senor frogs and got a margarita and there was plenty to shop from and many jerk/conch shacks and when no one was performing on stage, they would play music thru big speakers there was dancing even hair braiding and fun for all ages!
Went to the Atlantis casino and waterpark we didnt stay too long, but for the length of time we enjoyed it and did a tour of the island we had a blast! This was my very first cruise and it was my most memorable vacation.
We rode the charter bus to the port and we had to pick others up as well embarking was smooth sailing we had a cove balcony with a wonderful view so our room was available we didnt have to wait. It was fun
San Juan 2017 was nice we did a private tour and the tour guide was great he took us to a national Forrest and we saw plantain plants elephant plants and many more different types of things that we were not use to seeing we went to a visitor center and he took us to a waterfall it was so beautiful you had people climbing it to take selfies and as we were driving up a higher latitude our ears were popping lol the we stopped at this building this building that looked like a light house it had alot of stairs and a mini gift shop too we got to the top and you could see the mountains and fog and alot of forrest and we took pictures up there it also had a telescope you could view through it he was a great guide and driver because that was a tight squeeze and a one way in and out type of drive and you had alot of road work going on to and sharp curves got back to the port area and we did some shopping and I got addicted to those frozen ice treats they had I will definitely go back.
This was a nice port not much to do but decided to do a guided tour of the town it was very impoverished and its nothing I have never seen before but what I learned was the houses had an average cost of $200,000 and if any one saw these homes you would say they look more like $5,000-$10,000 lol but we saw somr beautiful homes and im pretty sure they were like vacation homes because no one was out these homes were colorful and you knew they cost a pretty penny no walmart no convenient stores every thing was imported and they even used the salt from the sea water for things. They had a library but it caught a fire and they were going to rebuild it and were asking for donations of books . The locals were very down to earth some of us even played a game of dominoes with them while others shopping but then there was this guy who had a bag of Lil green fruits they were small and he was like aggressive trying to get us to try the fruit and we didnt know where his hands had been lol some ate the fruit but my clique didn't lol the donkeys were everywhere this bus was a safari bus so we had no are and a guy hat flew off we had to stop and get it all in all it was great
We went to Reggae Beach and the driver was great he gave a guided tour of the area and he played Bob Marley music and everyone including the driver on the bus was amazed at how I knew all the songs that came on lol then before we made it to the beach we stopped and got out to a beautiful view of the two oceans it was stupid fun and half of the people got back on the bus were wasted talking about fun times... definitely will go back
It rained for a spell but it stopped long enough for us to get off and go shopping not really much there and we didnt go on any excursions due to the rain but we did see the goats In the mountains
