this guy gives the skinny on what is wrong with the industry. Simply put, they don’t care. All that matters is they fill their cabins.

Im down to a couple of days...so at this point I.....just....don't....care....heheheheheheh...sposed to clean the inside of the car.....don't see why...sumpin bout the windshield.....((((yawn))).........

I don't think you'd even have the tent.

Riiiiiiiight...just like the rest of us, barely scraping bye.....harharhardeharhar...that wink says it all....course, I owe it all to my wife...without her I'd be living in a tent under a bridge.....

I might have deep pockets, but there isn't anything in them.Wink

As with all things ... we adapt. Just as the cruise industry has adapted to a changing world so too must we adapt to a changing cruise experience. Unless of course you have the means. For those with deeper pockets than I there are still all inclusive pampering cruises available on smaller more private ships ... It is just a matter of affordability.

Frankly, nothing new there...I'ver been crabbing about the "pay more get less" thing, post-pandemic ad nauseum. Add to that the steady degradation of the cruising public...i.e. it went from "something special" to nothing special,, anybody can do it...usually the ruder the better...all to the cruise lines benefit. If they didn't do it, there'd be less lines, and way less ships, AND way less stockholders willing to pay the exhorbitant salaries these top heavy lines have occupying mahogany row. ...I'm. amazed it took the pandemic to get all this to happen. The beancounters are driving this bus, thats for sure. And yes, despite the fact that it ain't what it used to be we're still going..in a few days and then 4 more after that into 2025...now thats a definition of insanity eh? will it end for us? somewhere sometime...will i stop crabbing about it? in here, nope, on board, I usually feel alot better... wonder why... hehehehe

Cruising is an option for many travelers. Some say yes, some say no. Each individual (family) has their reasons for whatever form of vacation travel they choose. I did MANY land vacations until I discovered cruising. Currently, cruising is my #1 choice for a relaxing vacation. In a few years, I may be back to dirt based excursions, but, I doubt it.

The crew, the ships, the excursions (or stay aboard), the food, the entertainment - options galore. Eye candy and chocolate desserts, a glass of champagne just a few steps away and a special cruise partner makes cruising such a wonderful option for traveling pleasure. Steaks, lobster, or a refreshing soft serve dish of chocolate indulgence. The cruise ships have it all. Fun, adventure, food and relaxation. Did I mention old episodes of The Love Boat on the cabin TV ?? Oh, YES !!!

Fill my cabin ? As long as it is with me, and my cruising companion - I am happy. Bon voyage, fellow cruisers.

Thanks for sharing! I watched both the negative (the link you posted) and the postive (the link available at the end of it), He has some very good points. We are still happy with the option to cruise and have adapted to the changes, mostly. Good information!

As with any corporation, large and small, Profit is key. In the travel industry, competition for the consumer dollar is paramount in the daily operation. Bloggers and writers each have their own opinion of this and other industries.

I really enjoy many of the articles that come out regarding cruising. The options out there are great if you know what you need out of the experience. We are cruising as a large family unit next October. After the research was done we chose, as a group MSC based on the value for our travel dollar. With a dozen travelers who have all cruised on other lines this was the best bet. We will see.

I hope to do a short cruise in February, based on the price and itinerary.

As always, the companies providing the services we enjoy, will always have the bottom line as a priority.
