Which excursion would you choose?

We are leaving on a Royal Carribean cruise out of Barcelona and visiting some ports in France and Italy. We are undecided about 2 of these ports. On our stop in Florence, we are not sure between seeing the more historical side of Florence and Pisa or going on an excursion that visits Portofino, Rapallo and Santa Margherita. Similarly, when stopping in Marsaille, our choices are to view scenic Marsaille or opt for Cassis, which I understand is a small and quaint fishing pier. Has anyone visited any of these locations and have some experience they can share? I appreciate all of your help.

Cruise more, see more.

When we did Europe trip we booked out excursions through a company called ROME IN LIMO. they picked us up at the ship and we planned ahead for what we wanted to see. They picked us up at each port in a Mercedes limo suv. They had our tickets to where we wanted to go so no lines. They brought us to authentic restaurants where locals dine for lunches. And they made sure we had private tours AND free time to wander around places. They were simply amazing!!! There were 6 of us. Cost was about $100 each per port. Rome. Florence. Naples. All are must sees!!! The amalfi coast is amazing!!

Go wherever you'll encounter the fewest tourists. Valencia, a few years back, we saw tour guides, all holding up placards so that the sheep could see them, crisscrossing each other like ants & termites on the march.

Try and find out where the 'real' people are....and go there.....you'll learn more...the other stuff you can see on YouTube and you won't have to line up to do it.

Florence is not close to the port, I believe 2 hours each way. Have a look at the Cinque Terre (Rick Steves has a nice show on it)....much closer. Cassis is beautiful so look into a private tour, it will be much cheaper

If the last time I was in Paris (2014 IIRC) is any indication, you'd likely have to line up for 13 hours to catch the elevator now. Wink

Yes that is my dream as well and Unfortunately we won’t have enough time to visit Paris. I even thought of taking a flight back home that stops in Paris for 13 hours so we can atleast see the Eiffel Tower before boarding our connecting flight but everyone in our party seems to think it’s too rushed and too stressful. I would have totally done it! Lol

I'd DIE to be in your shoes! My dream is to go to France (particularly Paris)!

I like the way you think!!!Big Smile
