Still a lot to ponder. Wanting to go and this plan will only change if there is a major travel restriction issued.

Agree - its going to take a long time to recover. Certainly going to be tough to attract newbies. Timing is everything - interesting time for Virgin Cruises to start sailing - but can't be helped.

Their BOD's aren't happy either. if you check NCL and CCL's SP from one year ago to today, you'll notice they lost Billions in Market Cap. So when the virus ends (and it will) what will they do to attract the nervous cruisers back? and also attract new ones? Something has to pay for all those new ships and refurbing the older ones.. think they'll have a fare sale for awhile? Part of me says yes, but a bigger part of me says no.

BTW, fwiw, me and the boss have already had a discussion about our upcoming cruise. And Im willing to bet theres a gazillion other booked passengers, veterans and newbies alike, who have had the same discussion. we're going...but just mebbe not everyone came to that conclusion.

Going to really put pressure on lines for "deep cleaning". Its hurting the industry overall. We love cruising, but have many family members who won't even try because of press like this.

There's more going on here than meets the eye....

I hope it works out for your dad. THIS however is just another nightmare. Somehow, I don't think mere passengers/civilians get the whole story when these things happen. Come to think of it, when was the last time a ship has been "turned away"..Sort of like a plague ship from years ago eh?

Ship will be in port for 2 days being cleaned before boarding so i am pretty confident the noro will be under control. Most of the cruise lines are pretty good with cleaning up after that.

With the "Super Sanitzation" of the ship, hopefully all will be well for your Father's cruise!

Can't put a thumbs up because it is sad news. Thanks for sharing this information. 'Tis the season no matter what you do. Where is that bubble people keep talking about?
