What was the best shore excursion that you took in a port?

i was wondering if the water was cold in the cave floating excursion?

For me the best excursion was in St. Thomas. We did snorkeling and underwater scooters. It was an AMAZING experience. As someone that can't even swim this excursion works for everyone. The shipwrecks that they took you to see underwater were amazing. They even took pictures for you if you had an underwater camera.

i have to do this the time that I am in St. Maarten.

One of the things I appreciated about Pompeii is shown in this picture... the logic that went into setting the cobblestones higher (look to the middle of the picture) up to allow people to cross the streets without getting their feet wet or mucked up but at the same time, allowing carriages to pass unimpeded.

For me it is the Bearing sea fishermans tour on the Alutian Ballad. The crew is fantastic. I am a fan of the show Deadliest catch, the Ballad was on the first two seasons.

I guess, six shore excursions stand out equally in my memory as the best. Each was an all-day tour (lunch included), all began in the early morning and one returned about eleven o'clock at night.

--Tour of the Sea of Galilee area and Nazareth in Israel.

--Tour of Jerusalem--Bethlehem and that entire area of Israel.

--Tour of the Valley of the Kings and Luxor in Egypt. Leaving from the port at Safaga on the Red Sea.

--Tour of Berlin--from the Warnmunde port.

--Tour of the ancient city of Petra in Jordan.

--Tour of the great pyramids of Giza from the Alexandria port.
