WE DON'T NEED TO KNOW SQUAT...WE'RE ONLY THE PASSENGERS (hope this loads)

Always wondered from one day to the next who was driving this bus.

I'm in the same camp. I've been on 4 cruises with pre-testing, and despite passengers all tested, we see breakthrough cases indicating the test only doesn't catch all carriers. Only a handful of passengers are getting caught by the test, more carriers are making it on-board. So my confidence in pre-test effectiveness has decreased.

The color coded ship status was pretty useless. Data presented online was often several weeks old, so not very useful in understanding the "real time" status of a ship.

I'm truly torn I hate having to test 48 hours before (we drive to the port and leave the day before the cruise) But i do like the feeling of knowing everyone has tested prior to boarding. I know its not a guarantee but it makes for a relaxing vacation (along with the drink package)

There have been a few posts of people encountering covid while recently cruising but not too many. Out of sight out of mind.

My bet is you (either as a passenger or the general public) won't know ANYTHING of value about covid as it occurs on cruise ships. Where are you going to get the data from? I vaguely remember an ex-pres of ours making some remark that to make covid "go away" just stop reporting it. As absurd as that sounded, it just may be true.

I know theres folks in here cruising all the time. I for one would appreciate some comments here in the FORUM about it. When you get right down to it, I think its a tad more important than whether or not the soup was cold.

Yep! The CDC is tired of getting the blame and now the cruise lines can't blame the CDC. It will be interesting watching the next few months. I'm glad our next scheduled cruise isn't until December.

We shall all stick our heads in the sand. Everyone wants to abdicate any responsibility in case the wheels fall off the cart. No one wants to be held accountable therefore we will not report on it nor track it.
