Water?

I was curious, why do people need to bring their own water on the boat? I was on a Carnival cruise last year and the regular water they had tasted fine to me. Which is surprising for Carnival. Don't most ships at least filter their 'tap' water? I will be on the MSC Divina in a week. I figured I'll just bring a water bottle to fill up as needed. This should work fine, right?

My one trip I bought the 12 pack of water thinking it was a smart thing.. I barely used half of it :( Tried packing it in the luggage and couldn't fit it because I was not aware they were giving me 1L bottles

We buy water to have on board because it's handy to toss a bottle into beach bag to take on excursions instead of carrying an empty refillable bottle . I always have the refillable to use on the ship.

we being on sodas because my husband prefers Pepsi products.

The ship will supply distilled water for the CPAP or other medical reasons free for the asking.

There really is no reason to carry on bottled water, other than personal preference.

As for the soda, I am a soda snob. I took the Pepsi Challenge years ago. I chose Coke. (at least I think it was Coke -- the person conducting the poll wouldn't tell me what it wasYummy)

I think some bring it for a cpap machine or medical reasons mostly.

But I'm with everyone...why schlep. I get a drink package and can get bottled water from the bar, or bring a water bottle if need be.

A twelve pack of bottled water is $6.90 on a Princess cruise ...why schlep it if you can avoid that hassle. Winding in and out the ramp to the ship hauling water is a royal pain... and I believe checking it is out ...not sure.

I think the melted ice tastes better than the tap water too! Weird, huh?

Yes, the price is quite reasonable now and it’s so much more convenient than lugging your own aboard!

People think they are saving money by bringing water. Maybe they are, but it's not worth the inconvenience. We order a case to the cabin ahead of time, and I bring those flavour enhancers. The worst are the people that absolutely under no circumstance will they do without their brand of soda. Uggggggh !!!!!!!!!!Angry Pet peeve

They stopped allowing you to either late last year or early this year. What they did do was lower the price of the pre-order packages of water and you can have them delivered to your cabin on embarkment day.

Actually, I need to go now and see if Carnival no longer allows passengers to bring their own bottle water on board. I know two years ago they allowed it, but I'm not so sure now. Nervous
