Virus concern

Hello all, I have a cruise that is set to leave next Friday. My husband and myself will be going on the cruise. The cruise leaves from LA and goes into Mexico it is a three day cruise. I am concerned because if for some reason the cruise has a case of corona virus and we were quarantined my husband will lose his place at nursing school. As he cannot be gone for that long. I have done the readings and I understand that getting the flu is more likely than contracting coronavirus. However I have that little voice in the back of my head that says It could happen to you. I need some advice am I being unrealistic and should I just go on the cruise. Should I leave my husband at home. Or should I just cancel the cruise altogether. I have already called Carnival and they said we will only get $100 back for a refund. Thoughts?

My boss and I each went on cruises last week and neither one of us got quarantined or got the virus. Just practice good hygiene and you should be fine.

If there's a reported case at a port, the line will just cancel the stop to that port.

Sorry, don’t have one. It has been a public access site. Nervous

Get some clorox wipes to clean up your room, wash your hands after the bathroom and before eating, and you should be good to go. Your husband is more likely to catch a virus while doing patient care, than on a cruise ship

Fear is always there. There is always a virus/diseases on the go with novo, corona, dengue, etc. Til the gov'ts ban all travel then our cruise is still on.

Go and enjoy. The 3 day to Baja is a lot of fun. It is a party cruise. I just did the 4 day a couple weeks ado.

I did pack some Clorox wipes and cleaned any surface that I may touch in my cabin, door knobs, pulls, TV Remote, sink and shower water valves and light switches. Wash your hands often.

You are more likely to get the flu at home then to get Corona on a local ship.

If you go out the back of the buffet to the outdoor eating area, go down a flight of stairs you will be in the Serenity area that is adult only. Nice and quiet back there with pads on the loungers, some shaded areas, a couple of adult only hot tubs and bar service.

have a great time. Big Smile

Regardless of the hype the press gives against cruise ships, you are far more likely to catch any disease, including Corona, at your neighborhood grocery store or school than you are on a cruise ship.

You could go to the grocery store and pick up corona ... your husband could go to school and get corona ... you could get hit by a car ... be cautious yes .. follow good personal hygiene ... but life goes on and we must go on or we might as well crawl into a cave. Go and enjoy your cruise. Pick up a few proper masks if it makes you feel better and enjoy your cruise. In two weeks I sure as heck plan to go and enjoy mine.

Cheers,
