Upgrade Fairy Emailed.....

We recently used our FCC to book our cruise on the Dream.. we are on the 6th floor with a balcony. I received an upgrade email today stating I could upgrade for $30.00 to a higher level balcony.. I've only paid $300.00 total for this cruise, do you all think it is worth the upgrade?

The whole 5 day cruise was $300.00 for me, my hubby and son. We were on the Vista last year when it had propulsion issues and Carnival gave everyone a 50% Future Cruise Credit as well as $200.00 OBC each.. I used the FCC to book this cruise and it came out to $300.00 for all of us. I had looked at the deck plan when I booked, but for some reason i didn't realize, or it didn't register, what was below our deck.. so I went ahead and paid the $30.00 to upgrade to a higher floor.

Only $300 for a balcony? How long is the cruise for? As far as it being worth it I would look at the deck plans and try to figure out where you might be spending the most time and see if the upgrade puts you closer to that.

Yes it is. We spend ALOT of time surfing around when we choose our cruise/cabin. Deck plans are amazing once you get used to reading em. And reviews by actual people beat the fluff the cruise lines put out hands down. Considering what you paid for the cruise to begin with, I guess its worth the shot. I probably would take it too. Normally, theres NOTHING the line could offer us to make us change our cabin choice. welllll...almost nothing. ENJOY!!!

Thanks! Now I am getting excited, I think I will start getting my closet in order so i can fie out what to take Big Smile

Oh, and book excursions of course..

Good choice!!!!

Deck 7 only had one room, and it was close to the atrium, and the service closet was across the hall.. I went ahead and wet up to deck 8. The reviews of the room said the atrium noise wasn't bad, it was the room stewards and the carts banging in the service closet areas that was loud. The internet is full of amazingly wondrous things!

Try to get cabins above and below. Yes, I would go for the update. A great price and we like deck 7 on most of the Carnival ships.

I can chose the room and I don't think it's bigger. I'm trying to look into the differences.. i think the location advantage would be just closer to the lido etc. As I was looking, I noticed that on deck 5 (under our current cabin) there are some lounges, and the casino and other areas that could be a tad noisy after hours.. So I am thinking the 30.00 charge may be worth it. I'm still looking into rooms, areas etc.. I am at work so once i finish one task, i look into some vacation stuff LOL Helps me get my work done faster Big Smile

Agreed. Does it have a bigger balcony? Is the room bigger? Do you get to choose? does the new room have a location advantage over your current room?

Good price but what is the upgrade? Do you know the room location? Do you choose it or is it chosen for you?
