Totally Uncooperative with Problems during cruise

March 17, 2019 Norwegian Spirit cruise to Morocco and the Canary Islands.

Upgraded for $300 from Inside to Ocean View- had banging from outside the ship

day and night. Tried to move, but they said ship was sold out. After days of no

sleep, they "finally" found an Inside cabin at 2:00 am and we moved all our

luggage.

That very night, water was leaking from the ceiling over half the cabin. It seems

they moved out a person in this cabin due to water leaking and that we "wouldn't

mind" if there was some water, as there was no noise. They knew in advance,

and yet still moved us.

Complaining to the ships hotel manager then sending a long letter to NCL, we

were offered $300 credit each and one year to use it. After 3 months, we are

starting a small claims court suit for $5700.00 including airfare and shore

excursions at each port.

Being Platinum NCL cruisers did not help one bit.

We will never cruise with NCL and hope we get a little satisfaction in small

claims court. Original cabin was 6528 which they admitted had to be worked

on when the ship got back to Barcelona. The leak caused the second cabin

to be out of service on the next cruise.

Never had any major problems with NCL. Minor ones worked out quickly. More problems on RCCL and Carnival. It’s more about the staff than corporate.

From what I gather, NCL really has some improvements that need to be made on a management level. I had a horrible experience with them, but nothing to your extent. My friend who sails with them religiously also noticed them going downhill, and I think based on both of our experiences, it has something to do with management at the corporate level.

Regarding your cruise. Write a hand written letter and mail it the President of the cruise line using the postal service. Do not write it in anger, but express your thoughts clearly and with what your expectations are regarding your claim. While the forum and reviews are great to express yourself and ask questions, they will not result in action from the Cruise line. Direct communication is a great start.

Wow. You don't believe this is an isolated incident, you need to find a new cruise line.

Hope it works out to your satisfaction.

Sounds like a not so nice time. Hope you were able to get past the difficulties and at least enjoy the ports and other parts of the cruise.

Please do a proper review of the cruise. In the forum it will only be viewed by the few people that read the forum and it will drop down as people do not comment on it. If you post a review, lots pf people will see it when they do research on the ship.

I had issues with NCL before putting me into a cabin that they knew had issues and not want to change cabins "maybe you will get used to the noise, try a few more nights" Then I was moved to a cabin under the open deck so kids running early mornings. This is why NCL is at the very bottom of the lines I chose when booking a cruise. another time they did not give us the category we booked (the old days when you did not pick exact cabin) and the desk said "Sorry ship is full" So I had issues on 2 out of 3 NCL cruises.

I prefer Celebrity, RCI and I'll even cruise Carnival before I go NCL.
