I've been thinking about this a lot (no surprise). While I have no desire to get Covid, if I do with my double vaccine and double boosted status, I would be very ill but unlikelyto need hospitalization. If one of the non-vaccinated people were to get it, they have a greater chance of dying. The risk is theirs and not mine. hope they don't cause such a problem that get's the industry shut down again. But I do NOT intend to stop cruising because of this change. People have probably been cheating all along. Surprised

click the link...put your cursor over it (probably turn into a little hand with a finger) and hit enter...

All I see is a link to Carnival's message. Am I missing something. (I'm new at this)

go to the top of this thread...click the link...thats why i put it up there...

Yankee47: Didn't see NCL's latest message. What did he say now? lol

You're not hardly alone...the easiest first...at home, unmonitored?...I agree, whats the point? check a box...plug in an answer...if they even bother to ask...yeh, took twelve of em...passed em all...next!!! as far as the real criteria being....umm...relaxed...this ties in with the CDC and the cruise lines going out of the numbers business...that decision was made 37 paygrades way up there. If a cruise ship has a 50% infection rate, God forbid, who's to know??...but its clear that those mega financing deals the cruiselines had to make to stay in business, well...the chickens are home to roost...they have to be repaid...and WE'RE going to do it. or stay home and find another way to vacation...FWIW, we're going in OCTOBER too, plus 5 more booked into 2023 as well.. so we may not agree with it, but we're going. THAT was the reason our boy made that comment in the closing of NCLs latest message. I hope he doesn't bite his tongue off..

cruise lines are catching up to the rest of the travel industry. if you fly its the same thing. you are on a plane with the unvaxed too.

Is anybody else really annoyed with this announcement besides my husband & myself? Personally, I don't want to be cruising with a bunch of unvaccinated people that didn't have enough respect (for lack of a better word) for the people around them. I find them inconsiderate and selfish! As for the at-home testing these cruise lines are going to be accepting.....why bother????? We all know that people are going to lie and cheat their way to get onboard. The vaccinated have literally kept the cruise lines afloat (pun intended) the last year and this just isn't right or fair to the crew and the vaccinated. We do have a cruise booked for October and feel good about going because it was pretty much sold out before all the unvaxxed were able to book. After that, we'll just play the 'wait and see' game.

Well...since no one actually knows the true "covid count" anymore, who cares?????? Somebody, who shalll go nameless, said that if you want the pandemic done with, stop counting.......and thats literally what cruiselines have done...since if somebody tries to count em, and it gets out, well then.....when you get home and some wise guy asks how many got covid on your cruise, you can honestly say...nobody.....

i hope this all works for the best. i am looking forward to my next cruise and not having to test.
