Our next one is in on NCL, mid APRIL.....we cancelled 2/26 with CCL...So what does this mean to folks cruising on other CCL ships, and for longer cruises? It was clear that despite their warnings that they couldn't or wouldn't test everyone at the terminal, thats exactly what CCL did for ours in NOV, and believe me there were hundreds getting tested, probably because that cruise was right after TDAY...and alot of testing places were closed...(you may remember THAT epic)...I wish they would come up with a policy that didn't change with the phases of the moon.

All it means to me is that we're going to call NCL a day or so before we're scheduled to leave, and hope that THEY aren't doing any voodoo....one never knows, do one??

Where did they go? Out with the bath water and COVID?

"safe and less complicated cruises in the future"....how DARE you start the days refreshments this early...or without me??? hehehehehe I remember our first one...more or less....I don't know how we actually did it...I couldn't find my head with both hands...from "choosing" a cruise to booking it, to getting onboard, to making reservations for things...I don't know how I was able to get home...in a daze..as in "what just happened?".....aaaaahhhh...those WERE the days weren't they...things were alot simpler...and cheaper...

A lot of new cruisers appear to be taken in by the least expensive price and agent. Then they are unhappy about their experience from boarding to sailing. I wish every new cruiser was steered to Cruise Mate to get a heads up from expectations, paperwork and being repaired in line, (abelman comment). Safe cruising to all and were looking forward to less complicated cruises in the future.

Yeah. And it can be annoying when one is standing behind someone in line who doesn't have a clue as to what is required for them to be efficiency and quickly registered or processed prior to boarding. I actually believe there are a lot of people who blindly think their TA will take care of it all. I've already had fantasies about holding my fire at the people ahead of me who will be frantically fumbling through their travel documents looking for their vaccination cards to show the check-in representatives, assuming they would have just taken their word for it.

At least the redundancy should somewhat cull the herd of ignoramuses. Just imagine what embarkation wait times would now be like if the cruise line didn't do all of this updating and reminding?

Gave everybody who replied a "thumbs up"for luck!...but I would've given AUNTIE two of em, because...well....there's always a huge difference between what folks should've known and what they actually know...you'd think considering folks can have thousands involved in a big ticket item, they'd pay just a little more attention. Granted, sometimes these endless, sometimes contradictory updates can be confusing and raise more questions/issues than they answer or resolve..I can remember not that long ago when cruise lines didn't do any of this...just advertise cruises!!! .but what's that old expression about "fixing stupid"???

Just checked email. We have 8 emails with this same letter. We have a B2B scheduled for February/March and a B2B scheduled in October, all on Carnival. It appears we each got an email for each sailing. If we got all this, I am sure others did as well. But that won’t stop the “I didn’t know” complaints.

We are now out of the insanity untill the fall and hope that there is some semblance of normalcy by that point. Wishing everyone with a planned cruise good luck.

We are scheduled on the CCL Vista in April and on the Glory in August. Think we will cancel the August cruise. Unfortunately, that was the cheapest one....LOL

We are scheduled to board the Carnival Freedom the end of February. It will be interesting to see what’s happening then. Thanks for sharing your information.

Yeah, they (CCL) offers pierside testing on a limited basis for $100 a pop and by appointments only. NOW they're offering them for $10 each for the short cruises (lucky).

In the meantime, I invested $140 for [4] tests that we have to take with a "telehealth specialist" watching to make sure everything is above board.

If we end up to having to additionally take a pierside test before boarding, I know I'll be close to losing it. I truly hope that doesn't happen because my wife can't bring along the cattle prod anymore (issues with the TSA) to shock me back into civility.
