Surprising my niece...again!

So this year, provided everything goes well, we are taking my niece on her second cruise in November. We plan to tell her on Easter, with the stipulation that we will be allowed to sail in November (don't worry, we have a backup in case it gets cancelled). She knows everything that has been going on with the virus (Grammy and Auntie are Healthcare Heroes and she knows that she has to be safe around us and how to do that...she's very good about adopting the CDC recommendations), including the issues that have been going on with the cruise lines not sailing.

We've already made her a book with all the details of her vacation and her parents are already aware (and okayed the trip).

What we're wondering is how would be the best way to surprise her. She's 8 now and will be 9 when we sail.

Sounds like a wonderful memory in the making! Thanks for sharing!Love

We just told her. She's literally jumping up and down! She's screaming with joy!

And of course we got her a cruise mask to match!

I have her reaction on camera!

I am looking forward to her reaction. Hope all goes according to plan!Big Smile

We're telling her on Saturday, when she gets to spend an overnight with us! She just got her ears pierced, so we're giving her special earrings she can wear on the ship as well (this is a tradition in our family whenever we get ready to go on a cruise)! We're going to tell her that the gift was too big to fit in her Easter basket, but the Easter Bunny wanted her to have it.

One stop we're going to is Cocoa Cay, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any good videos to show her (passenger made or made by RC, it doesn't matter). I have pictures of it from 2 years ago I can show her. The ship is Anthem Of The Seas, are there any good recent videos of the ship?

We already got our vaccines and checked into PCR testing for her to fit the requirements...of which we already found a site willing to test her when the date gets closer. So now, all we need is the all-clear from the CDC!

That is an amazing surprise. I am getting excited for her.

I had some friends who bought a personalized cruise door magnet on eBay or Amazon or Esty (I can't remember).

Anyway, they put it on their refrigerator door and waited to see how long it was before the kids noticed it. They said it took less than an hour before their daughter noticed and alerted the rest of the kids.
