Good to hear. I bought my stock the day of the Costa Concordia disaster. Everyone else was selling. The minute I got off from our Carnival Dream cruise, the day of the disaster, and before I even unpacked, I called our broker The price went right back up and I have gotten more value with the onboard credit than with the dividend. I am getting $500 back next year with my two cruises, alone. I, too, believe that the stock has paid for itself. Well worth the investment especially since I can use the credit on so many different Carnival partners like HAL and Princess.

Your secret is safe with me. I will never tell your wife that those lost opportunities were your fault, not Carnival's fault. Didn't mean for you to feel bad, just wanted to motivate you to try again and receive what is coming to you. Enjoy your better quality wine.

To funny Mr. Kennicott tell us how that works out for you. Yes we own the Carnival stock. We bought the 100 shares. It has paid for itself in shipboard credit since we have obtained it. We have never had a problem with getting the credit applied.

Well, I'll be. It actually pays $$ to pay attention to these threads here on Cruiseline. 13 days ago I was the first, after the OP, to post on this thread. I peed and moaned how it never worked for us. glomarrone made me feel bad though with her patient and courteous response.

So I tried it again. Just opened up my Princess "Cruise Personalizer" to see if anything was new, and there it was, $250.00 on board credits for "Shareholder Benefits".

Wife is really happy, actually the stock is through her brokerage account. Unfortunately, she is begining to remember I let four other Princess cruises go by because I was so stubborn, close to about $1000.00 lost out on.

I'm trying to tell her that Carnival changed their format since I first tried and made it much easier. Sounds good anyway. We already had $300.00 in cruise credits on this one so that makes $550.00. Except she can't use it in the casino. No problem I say, I use it for a little better quality wine then.

Oh no, you need a course in Investing 101🤑. You only compound your problem with volume, laugh, laugh. You should let us all know when you buy and sell so we'll know what not to do. 😢

So funny!

I think it is a good deal at least on Carnival. I have found RCCL less valuable to me so I sold it. It was fine when I could use it, though. I never owned NRC stock as I rarely cruise on that line anymore. Good to know that you find them all valuable.

My strategy? Buy high, sell low, and make it up in volume.

My portfolio appreciates your willpower to abstain, BAK. Happy

Personal history has taught me to avoid the stock market. Nothing will drive a stock down faster than me signing a purchase order for shares of that stock.
