Sanctuary on embarkation day?

We have early embarkation for next month's cruise and one of my neighbors suggested I head up to the Sanctuary as soon as I get on board. Is this a good idea? And does anyone know if the first afternoon is complimentary while passengers are coming on board?

Here's to a better 2022

Looking forward to hearing about your cruise within a cruise.

Looks like I'll let you all know in 9 days. 9 DAYS! I can't wait!!!

Sounds good, but a walk through is good for us.

I know we were able to walk through on boarding day a few years ago, But I have no idea what it is like now. We didn't buy a pass to stay there. I look forward to your experience because we will back on Princess in December.

Got great feedback from our Princess cruise planner. She explained that in normal times the Sanctuary area is the most coveted (?) area of the ship. She listed all of the great features that I had read in earlier reviews and said it is worth the hype. She also said that -unfortunately- she has never heard of free entry during the first day while others are embarking. We are sooooo looking forward to this, whether we get time in the Sanctuary or not.
