Rumour has it that Carnival is looking to drop a couple of lines

I came across this one today. Not sure how accurate it is but this is certainly news worthy.

I note that both Cunard and Seabourn upper tier lines.

Carnival says no, so only time will tell. But remember, just a rumor.

It is like the department stores, Nordstrom's, Sacks and Needless Markup (aka Neiman Marcus) all having problems with Chapter 11 while Walmart and Target going gangbusters.

You can make more from the poor and middle class then from the wealthy.

I couldn't get the whole article without subscribing due to some blocking by our computer. However, I got the idea. Carnival will do whatever it thinks necessary to stay in business, just as the other cruise corporations will. Only time will give us the true answers.

They're looking past the relatively short time their assorted loans bought them..Shedding assets right now means someone can pick up a cruise line in its entirety at firesale prices.

Seaborn at least was able to show better margins, but guess thats not really the case at this point in time. Would definitely believe Cunard is a better one to shed. The ships aren't configured for the emerging younger demographic. Good chance the senior demographic may greatly delay re-entering the cruise vacation route until vaccines and therapeutics are widely available and distributed and hysteria fades.
