Recent Update to Travel Authorization Application Deadlines for Bermuda

Per https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation you now need to apply and receive confirmation to your Travel Authorization form for cruise ship arrival 2 weeks prior to embarking your ship.

They have dropped the need to go back to upload test results just prior to boarding the ship, unless instructed to by a direct email from the Bermudian government (look for the senders address to contain gov.bm). BUT now require that you have a fully readable without extra app test report (so no just QR code lab links) or printout of the test results which may be asked for on the pier before being allowed to exit the immigration controlled area between the ship and main port complex.

Parents of unvaccinated children (2-11) may have to show both test results, the pre terminal arrival NAAT test and the cruise line overseen embarkation day rapid test result reports, for the minor(s). Children under 2 are still exempt from testing and do not need a TA application when traveling with fully vaccinated adults.

Basically to visit Bermuda during these "Covid times" by any means, even private watercraft, since they reopened you have to get pre-approved by their government.

Prior to this past Friday you needed to apply for the application and upload your vaccine card and negative test results, then pay a $40 (down from Fall '21 pricing of $75) in administrative fees. Prior to the announcement could do your initial application as close to sailing as 4 days in advance of boarding and upload your test results on embarkation day.

Now they have taken the 2 step process away but pushed the application deadline to 2 weeks out from embarkation day if Bermuda will be the ship's first stop and reach there in less than 4 days of leaving from the home port.

Plus you have to pay 40$

You're not alone...and I don't think you're being any crankier than alot of other folks..and cranky isn't the word either...nothing on that island is worth the bureaucratic two step...Got 4 shots, and willing to be tested...thats as far as I go...

I guess my Bermuda vacations will have to remain on the back burner for a while longer. I have all of that, but I am getting tired of filling out forms for everything. Just being a cranky old lady today... sorry.Sad

Not sure I understand, but great!
