Cruise Fever reports: Crystal Cruises to Build 3 New Luxury Ships, Cabins Can Be Purchased as 2nd Home

"Dreaming of living on a cruise ship? The top deck of each ship will have 48 residences that can be purchased and used as a residence or 2nd home. They will have their own private restaurant, reception and facilities, and nine foot ceilings. They will range from 600 square feet to the largest at sea at more than 4,000 square feet."

Although I am a frequent cruiser, this is not for me. However, it may be for others and is a neat idea. The cost must be very high. I have yet to take a cruise on this line as it is because of cost. On a HAL cruise there was a lady who practically lived on the ship. For someone like her, this would be great.

This is an interesting idea. To own on a regular cruise ship instead of a 100% condo ship like The World. My questions would be.... as a condo owner do you have run of the ship, MDR, Buffet, show rooms and lectures ? Are you only able to eat in the Condo dining room ?

It will be interesting to see what is included as a condo owner and what are extra charges. I would also be interested to see what the HOA's are and what condo owners do every few years when the ship is in dry dock?

I think this is a cool idea. However, Crystal will never be in my budget.
