Not to sound like the unfeeling, uncaring, heartless jerk I have been accused of being (mostly by former girlfriends in my youth), but I think there would be a good chance one could witness more than a few "miracles" å la Lourdes if one were under those conditions.

Muster is a laugh. I posted something like this as I was in the Navy...you just abandon ship no matter where you are on ship. When we cruise (most on the Breeze, we get same cabin, and know our station in our sleep) we just get our card scanned, go out of the rear of the dining room...muster over with....anyone with common sense can put on a life jacket. We practiced abandon ship on a aircraft carrier(jumping over the side), so a cruise ship is nothing. Pity the poor scooter and walker people as they are "sunk chickens"

Hear! Hear!

So you want those cards distributed all over the ship to every muster station divided up by where you're supposed to be? In the hands of all kinds of crew who have enough difficulty "spikin de eeeenglish" as it is?...Thats insane...anyone who has gone thru that "process" on embarcation day knows what a CF it is...even experienced cruisers can get confuzzled..we've been on the same ship/same cabin on different cruises and wound up elsewhere, because they "adjusted" something....as far as activating them later...I'll bet real money theres a few corporate beancounters who just might object to that. Besides, you really think no brilliant mind at a whole bunch of cruiselines has kicked all kinds of ideas around? And the CG just might have to bless it anyway. Its amazing they let the cruiselines get away with the make believe drills they have now...Lets hope there no major r/l emergencies, because their drills and evacuation procedures are just this side of useless, drinks or no...but we've beaten that subject up repeatedly.

I think it's a step in the right direction with the new drink policy, but I have an even better idea: instead of being able to pick up the cards outside your door, have them available at the Muster Station, where you have to complete the drill in order to get them. Or have them at the cabin door but not activated until the drill is done.

II do too! It will at least get those who procrastinated while drinking to get it done, For those wondering: After your second drink on embarkation day, if you haven't completed your muster drill, your cannot get a thrid drink. Basically you are shut off until you complete the drill!

I like the new Carnival drinking policy regarding the Muster Drill/check-in.
