Motion Sickness...

Hi Everyone,

Do you think its important to bring motion sickness meds even though you may "think" you don't need it?

If it was a one time only occurrence then quite possibly it was not motion sickness but something else and maybe the motion contributed to it. Strange or bad food and or a few too many cocktails can easily mimic the symptoms of motion sickness ;)

My husband got really sick on a fishing boat off the Farallon Islands. We've been on many cruise ships and the only times he's had slight motion sickness was off the coast of Baja California. The Caribbean and the Mediteranean seem to have calmer seas and we've been off the coast of Italy during a storm and didn't have any problems. Of course, like others have stated, we usually get a balcony room, midship.

There are motion sickness wrist bands that you can buy at pharmacies that supposedly work great with the pressure points on your wrist. Medications can sometimes make you drowsy or irritable, and you are not supposed to drink with them.

Jack will definitely help dissolve anything faster...pills , your liver, marriages, whatever.....yuk yuk

I wonder if the acid in the apples helps to dissolve the pills faster

The one time DH got motion sickness BAD (lifelong fisherman with numerous cruises behind him w/no issues), guest services good him to eat green apple when taking the pills - it really helped. So, we now always grab a couple green apples from the Lido and refresh them every couple days - just in case.

Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!

Yes, but don't take them until you need them. Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

When in doubt book your cabin low midships. We always book a cove balcony deck 2 mid ship. Not mich motion there

Got seasick way back when as a kid deep sea fishing with the ol man. no sympathy whatsoever...got over it, and nothing since, including a few storms here n there. you stand next to a cruise ship, you think NOTHING can move them, especially since they almost all have stabilizers anyway. until you get out at sea, and see one a few miles away and realize how BIG the ocean is and how small even those behemoths are... hangovers, on the other hand are a different kind of animal...must be a thousand "cures"....all I know is you wanna play, you gotta pay. ESPECIALLY onboard..at least you ain't driving nowhere hehehehe

Never heard of that one!

Could be a great hangover stabilizer! I like it!
