Mixed signals from the industry

I read these stories about bigger ships, or ships with go karts, changing menus, etc. But here’s the thing, CoVid is STILL around, but mask mandates and vax requirements are not. We know people are walking off of these ships with some form of Covid. They have to be. Prices drop so that even the lowest strata of society can afford a vacation. We used to save for a year to take a cruise. Now, people seem to take 4 or 5 in a year. I’m not one to judge, but I’ve seen luggage with more duct tape holding it together, than actual luggage material on my last couple of cruises. Dining room attire has become lax ( anything other than a bathing suit apparently ) even in a so called formal night. People don’t even try anymore. And the sense of entitlement !! How rude can people get ? Apparently very rude. Think about this, would you work for a cruise line when you see how some people act ? Staffing a cruise ship was NEVER a problem. Now, they all seem to be understaffed.
just rambling again. Sorry folks

The cruise industry is going the way of Disney. We went to WDW every year, dragging our pop up to Fort Wilderness. Cost $25 to get in a theme park, $20 a night to camp. They offered camping packages where you had dining coupons to eat anywhere any time, unlimited entrances to any parks any time, no parking fees. A dream trip. Now it costs $80 to $100 a night to camp, nearly $200 to get in one theme park, pay to park car, got to get a reservation to get in. Cheap vacation here is gone forever.

We see cruising heading this way. Prices increasing, services dwindling, like ice cream and beverage shutdowns at 9 p m, pizza hours cut, charging extra for third serving, speciality restaurants increasing prices, even parking for the cruise increasing. So we also have a couple of cruises booked, if things keep going the way of the way like disney did, we will have to visit our state parks more often. Crowd starts into camping, we may be pushing up daises by then

All the new NCL are The Local for the 24 hour pub. This is the replacement for O'SHEEHANS which was introduced with Breakaway and Epic. Prior to that it was The Blue Lagoon.

Huh ?

Well, its their version of it...If I remember, it had something to do with TRACTOR SUPPLY...it was clean, at the time anyway... hehehe..the hat that is......good thinking, but it had no message...other than advertising I guess...I understand they've renamed it on other ships?...or just PRIMA? now its called "THE LOCAL"..........sounds like a union message to me, but wtf do I know...now its sweated up, oily...mebbe time for a new one?? Sometimes I wear my NAM hat....wife says it attracts flies, human and other wise heheheheheh

Yank, I do not know the place you speak of…but it sure sounds like an Irish pub… No hats allowed you say? What was the message on the cap? 😈

I wouldn't go that far...seen the same slobs in those too...I think it depends entirely on the ship and venue..and who's in charge...HOWEVER...last time on BREAKAWAY in O'SHEEHANS they made me take off my bazeboll cap...the one place you'd think they wouldn't care....anyone who frequents it knows whereof I speak...wings...beer...after midnite...sheesh!!

I can honestly say I have noticed the decline in the MDR's for dinner, dress wise. However, when we were on Oasis in March, on the first night we went to Izumi Hibachi. My brother was wearing a sleeveless Collard shirt, and they wouldnt allow him to be seated, until he put a shirt on with sleeves.

I guess that at least they're still being strict at the Specialty Restaurants?

Again, my apologies. As you may be aware, there are a lot of platforms out there populated by people who are absolutely "making it all up". I have no idea why or what they get out of it, and even now I can't quite wrap my head around it.

Blessings to you.

Same here. I think we're up to 25, never bothered to load them all,or do reviews. Also plat with NCL There are folks who make our cruise count look like we're newbies. As for the other, its still cyber, not RL.
