Meeting fellow cruisers

At first on my cruises I avoided people as much as possible. But after watching a YouTube video about things to do on a cruise that included meeting people in a way that doesn't make you look like a weirdo I decided to go for it on the last two cruises. I've met a lot of great people.

Do you all like meeting people or just keeping to yourselves? Have you stayed in touch with any of them for an extended period of time?

Yes I think people tend to be clear with body language and also reading between the lines when it comes to "Yes you can stick with me" or "I'll see you again at the next trivia (or what ever the event) but don't hang out with me now".

So I make sure to listen carefully and read body language as well when interacting with people.

I like meeting people but I'm very cautious at first of becoming "too involved" with people who want to stay joined at the hip for the rest of the cruise. My son knows everyone on the ship the first day - lol. I have remained friends with one couple I met on my second cruise and stayed in touch ... lost touch with most others.

I have a really crazy story about two women my son met ... but I'll save that for another day.

I try to talk to people while on the cruise, but more than likely I end up talking with the crew. I remember on our last cruise, I had went to where there was a football game on, the Carolina Panthers were playing, I am a die hard anti panther person, to illustrate, I would pull for the joint ISIS/ISIL team against the SMATHERS... Anyway, I pulled up to the bar, started talking to these two guys about football, they said, yea our quarterback is not doing too well. I said, Thank God its not (SH)Cam Newton. Alas, they were from Charlotte, NC...

Chan, Chris and Danyl have no problems talking with the other cruisers. Kyle works his one word pickup line "HeeeeeY!", ends up getting hugs from the girls in bikinis and high 5's from everyone else.

I'm more of the anti-social typeBig Smile

I tend not to socialize with the rest of the passengers.

I do politely converse in such areas such as the smoking area or MDR, but really nothing more than light polite conversation.
