Let the lawsuits begin....

now that the Anthem of the Seas is back at her home port of Bayonne, NJ, it should only be a matter of days ( day ? ) til the first law suits are filed. If they haven't been already. With only about 4 minor injuries, thankfully, we can expect others to file for millions of $$$$$ for negligence on the part of Royal Caribean. Even though the weather they encountered was worse than predicted, Royal will be deemed, " at fault " .

Perhaps this will give someone cause to rethink the size of these ships, and their higher center of gravity. Looking at the clips, the cruise industry may have dodged a major disaster on this one, again, thankfully. On a ship you never want to see life imitate art, but how many passengers were thinking of the Poseidon Adventure during this storm ?

Glad everyone made it home safe.

Dont expect more than about 15-20% off a future cruise, and possibly a refund for this one.

I guess I have to admit I'm also a weird ones that also enjoys a bit of rough seas. On one cruise we were heading North up to L.A., CA from Mexico and the captain went over the PA and said if you do not need to be out tonight, it is suggested that you stay in your cabins due to rough seas. If I dot wake up and grab the bed frame I would have been tossed out of bed. I was young at the time and used the logic that if the ship is swaying R to L, I need to drink enough to sway L to R and then I'll be balanced Big Smile it was a fun trip, but my bar tab was more then the 7 night cruise.

yea... I should have thought that one out.....LOL

I hope that is simply a poor choice of wordsSurprised

I, too, am one of the weird ones that enjoy rough seas.

Just read they will get a full refund and a 50% off voucher on a future cruise. Won't be enough for some, but by industry standards, that is very generous.

I have followed this on this and other sites. I have seen the video and look forward to following the news cycle. The generous offering by the cruise line will stop many, if not all the lawsuits. . As a cadet many years ago, I was onboard a minesweeper in rough seas.

What a blast. I'm sure that in my own sick way, I would have probably enjoyed the rough seas knowing that the structural integrity of the ship was designed for rough seas.

Now there will be a great deal said about the dangers of bring such big vessels out in rough waters, but what about container ships, car carriers and oil tankers. Over the past year there have been sinkings and accidents . I would hope that these cruise ship monsters are up the task in rough seas. Maybe we explore that concept in discussions.

JusMe has a point -- America -- the land of milk, honey and lawsuits.

Although it was scary, weather is not totally predictable. These people got a full refund PLUS 50% off their next cruise. I think I would be satisfied. Some people just can't be pleased.

Happy everyone is home safe and the ship held up under such rough seas. I'm sure it is a cruise none of the guest or crew will forget. A round of applause for the crew and how they handled the situation.

Unfortunately I'd guess a lawyer was waiting or guest to get off the ship and sign people up...... a ship chaser instead of an ambulance chaser.

Our thoughts were with the passengers. Very glad everyone returned home safe.

RCCL was generous in refunding all pax at 100% and offering them 50% off their next cruise.

I am sure that there will be an investigation as to why the ship enter such rough waters instead of finding calm waters further out at sea.
