I was surprised it was NV as well. Maybe the rate was already so high it hasn't increased in the last five years. It was the only stated listed with not only no increase but actually a slight 1% decrease.

I would think NV would have a higher rate after people loose everything in the casino. I lived in Las Vegas for a year and the apartment complex we were in had a very high turn over even though it had a waiting list to get into it.

For ships I can see it, young people away from home for the first time with no support system or family around knowing they are stuck on the ship for 6 months. I imagine it could be a very hard lonely life working on a ship.

Who needs proof? I can make up stories with best of them.... I have a vivid imagination!

So there I was minding my own biz and.....

I never said that.

You have no proof I said that.

I know for a fact that you and Yankee get along!

Not me... I'm telling... "hey, everyone, guess what?

Sometimes I wonder with crew overboard whether it is in fact suicide or whether there is some foul play ... They have cameras and would need to check the footage but I am sure there are a few blind spots and crew would know where they are ...

I promise to not tell anyone!

Agreed, down the line...especially your comment re the media. Incomplete, out of context, incorrect implications, all seem to be ok. mere news reporting is out of style.. I suspect we agree on more than we disagree..don't spread it around....

Sorry - I was using the LEO as an example, not to imply that you were stating it was OK.

I do, however, believe that RCL may need to revisit their shipboard SOPs as it relates to entertainers. Too many, in too short a time, across a small, defined cross-section to be a coincidence.

Pinkie - I agree that the suicide rate is up across the board (suprised, though, that Nevada is excluded), and I do believe the press cannot be trusted to tell the full truth in their stories, however I do believe that they would jump on the opportunity to "report" on any cruise line, not just pick RCL out and ignore the others.

I am not harboring ill will toward the line, only hoping that their senior management look into the possibilities of a severe problem that may be developing, and fix it before it gets worse.
