Okay, for what it’s worth, I’m going to spill my guts here. Some of you know parts of this story, as we have been together since the days of Funville, where I was known as CrompondCruiser ( Cromp for short ).
In 2005, a new forum dedicated to cruising was born. It was called MeetOnCruise.com, Unlike Funville, it was quiet. Mainly because there was only about 6 of us who were regulars, one was a girl from Texas ( TexasSea ), I think. A woman named Gloria ( GloMarone ) who took extended cruises, myself, and a couple of others. MoC was going through a lot of growing pains, but we managed to keep it going. I pried some denizens of FV to come over to the quiet site. Funville had been stricken with a virus called HG22. As this site grew, it became a bit edgy. Not mean or vile, but edgy. Me and my sarcasm thrived. In 2012 the site became Cruiseline. Com (2012 ? ), and a new direction was taken.
A moderator with no sense of humor was hired, and immediately set his sights on yours truly. A couple of posts got me suspended, so I created a sick puppet ( or two ). After serving a suspension, I had an epiphany, well, my filters just stopped working, and I started creating news stories that , well, at first seemed feasible ( think The Onion , but cruise related stories ). I don’t even remember them all because no planning went into them. I just wrote them. Well, this moderator hated them. Warnings, suspensions, until finally I wrote a really funny bit. Although I advertised it as fiction, I was tossed for the last time , the reason given was ludicrous. It went something like this :
Reuters: Carnival Cruise Lines has sold one of their fleet. Timing of the sale questioned. The Carnival Valor was sold in the middle of its current cruise. Spokesperson Bjorn Husqvarna stated we struck a deal with a small startup, we wish the crew and current passenger manifest the best of luck, wherever they end up .
I was tossed for the following reason , “ we at Cruiseline don’t wish to promote human trafficking , therefore consider yourself banned for life “. Simon. He had my ISP blocked, he intercepted an e mail meant for someone else……so, eventually I became KW2C.
This may be my last post, but that’s my story, briefly.
Oh, I do have a reputation for helping people who come to NY. I have been on 20-25 cruises over about 30 years with all the lines, but mostly NCL (Platinum )
