Hearing Aids, Hats, Oh My ....

I'm in my 60s but wear hearing aids from hearing loss caused by loud music days in the 70s (lol). I love them. When I am on deck and its windy, the "sound" of the wind plays havoc with them as they try to "self-adjust" to the noise. I've tried a variety of hats and headbands, scarves etc ... Then I discovered ear plugs. I keep a pair in my pocket and pop them in and out as needed and it works terrifically. MUCH easier than removing the hearing aids and more comfortable than a headband.

My audiologist said no problem, even suggested trimming the ear plug down a bit if more comfortable. PS I always take my hearing aids in for cleaning after a cruise as the ocean air takes it toll on them.

Luckily I do not need hearing aids yet but perhaps my husband does. I like the idea of ear plugs though. Music around the pool is Too loud - great idea! Getting old sucks!

I do not need a new motor ... but sometimes I do need a new filter ... the other one is in the gutter ...lol

No hearing aids for me.... I really don't want to hear some of the crap I'm have to listen to.

But then, I guess you can always turn them off.

Glasses were in future 20 years ago and hearing aids, well 4 months ago, the Phonak v90 aids are in my present ears.

Try the moldable type of plugs that swimmers wear. You can cut them in half to make them thinner so they don't block out conversational noise. They are available in any pharmacy.

Um glasses, hearing aids and maybe even teeth too are in my future. Big Smilelol

They're not like the old cauliflower pieces hanging off your ear - technology is amazing - I love them and didn't realize how much my hearing had diminished until I could hear again. Don't put it off as long as I did ...it's been life changing for me.

As I get older I think hearing aids are in my future. Good info.
