The muster is a laugh. There are other things beside a fire on a ship. Look at Costa Condordia, the ship is on its side. I laugh at the life jacket doner demonstraitors, they dont tell you how to jump over the side with the jacket on, they assume you are going to get in the life boat, if your side hasnt lost theirs due to listing, and I ask the crew standing at the steps to direct you to your muster dining room what happens when the ships lists port or starboard how are you going to handle the stairs, the stairs will be the walls. They look surprised. I ask them if there was an actually abandon ship drill on any cruise line where all passengers actually get in the lifeboats to see how long and if the drill actually works. No answer. I ask if women and children go first, how can you tell who is male or female? No answer. I ask how the walkers and scooter people abandon ship, one said crew will help, asked how would get them off a listing ship, no answer. I said the in port drill how come I see no one maning the life boat stations, no answer. All they do is guide you to the stairs to the muster station (ours is main dining room) I was in the Navy and we did an actual abandon ship, all of us jumped over the side, of course we had no elevators or stairs, just ladders. I will jump over the side with my wife when the ship lists as half of life boats will be gone, muster can go to davy jones locker. All it takes a major disaster at sea to take muster seriously, hopefully as much as I like to cruise, I will not be on that one. all ships I have been on I ask the same questions, get the same look
