Falmouth & Labadee

I am just curious as to what there is to do in Falmouth, Jamaica. I would love to hear from people that have been there. And I'm also wondering about Labadee, Haiti. I know it's Royal Caribbean's private island. But is there anything to see or is it just a beach stop?

If I don't pick the Allure this fall, it will definitely be on my cruise to-do list. I would also like to do a Southern Caribbean out of San Juan & hopefully one day a Panama Canal cruise, either partial transit or full transit.

I was just on the Allure in April and it was big and beautiful. You will not be bored for sure! I have some time as well before my next cruise in September as well so I am still looking!

I looked at RC's website so I see what you mean about the Margaritaville excursions. Based on the responses I have gotten, it seems like Labadee would be a really nice stop but Falmouth might not be so great. I've still got a while to decide on a cruise. The Allure would probably be a great ship to sail on but some of the other cruises seem to have better destinations for sightseeing. And I do like port days the best.

Was just looking at the excursion to Margarittaville through RC and there were some iffy reviews... I'm going to keep an eye on some things and maybe its something we can go out on our own.

I love Margaritaville in Grand Turk. Good food & good drinks. And of course, lots of Jimmy Buffett music.

Thank you for the information. I am considering several cruises for the fall & one of them goes to these two ports. I wanted to hear from someone that has been there. I have been to Ocho Rios, so I remember how pushy the merchants were there.

I'm looking at excursions now and one said that if you are going into Falouth (Which we will be doing) its a 90 min bus ride... I may wait on the falls if we port into ocho rios or another Jamaican port. Thanks for the tip with margarittavile!

We just came back from both. Loved Labadee It's made up of several beaches. The back 2 have less rocks. We stopped at the first one we came to and just wore our water shoes. Great place to swim and fun watching the zipline come down. There's a rollercoaster too. We parasailed so didn't do the others. Parasailing was great! At 1130, they have a big cookout that was really good and they do this in different locations, so not to terribly crowded. Tip on cookout..get there before 12:30 and don't get in the main line. No one realized there was a line starting in the front, everyone lined up the sides. Before we went, I watched a lot of videos on YouTube about the excursions. If you type in Labadee, it will bring up a good many. I felt like I knew it by the time we went. .. Jamaica..well live and learn. We payed for the VIP Bamboo Beach blast. 160.00 ..the drinks and food were fantastic...served to you on your lounge..music..great view..but excursion was 5 hours..and 2 of those were spent on the bus getting there. Would have been worth it if longer. Since then I've learned you can go to Margaritaville and is way cheaper. The shops have the pushy people as I'm sure you've heard. However, we just went into one..already knew what we wanted. You have to say this is too high..know what youd spend on it (example mug..their price 25.00..i put it back and suddenly price was 9.99..which is normal. This was the same with our other purchases. I would go back to Jamaica again though different excursion. I hear the falls are nice. Labedaa was the best though. Lots to do there

Thanks for the info.
