Expectations need to be kept real

You know .. i saw this article and shook my head .. not at the cruise lines but at the idiot passengers ... the cruise had to change plans because of one of the strongest hurricanes ever in the eastern Atlantic .. really .. are we getting that spoiled and pampered that we cannot accept reality and that this whole schlmeel was out of the cruise lines hands and was an act of nature .. seriously people .. be disappointed .. yes .. be unhappy .. sure .. blame the cruise lines and riot .. absolutely not.

Far be it from me to side with any cruise line, and Im not doing it now..I thought those fools "protesting" on board were, well...fools....having said that, NCL's cheap offer of 25% off the NEXT cruise was insulting. They could have done better. way better...

No one can control the weather. Cruise lines must first consider safety. If you sail anywhere in the Atlantic or Carribean in the fall, there's a higher probability of severe weather. Passengers are being unreasonable. Wonder how many are from N & S America vs other continents. If you are not familiar with such storms, you do not understand the impact.

Cruising is what you make it. Things,at times, are out of our hands. Always err on the side of caution cruising during hurricane season.

Theres a sense of "entitlement" I think that seems to go with cruising. I try to avoid the loudmouths on board, and I think we've figured out how to do it. (mostly anyway) course it costs more. but ask me if I care. on the other hand, sometimes its unavoidable. Cruising used to be "a thing" if ye follow...now, any know-it-all dingbat with plastic can do it, (which is great for the cruise lines) . This is #22 coming up, and each one has been pretty good...some better than others...when I lose that sense of wonder stepping on board, its time to do something else...mebbe a shawl in a rocking chair...

The Spirit was the first ship I had cruised on as well Yankee and I too loved it ... a lot. I feel bad that people missed some ports they wanted to see but .. wow .. they need to grow up and behave like adults. Taking things out on the crew is totally uncalled for. It shows how low we have fallen lately in the manners and people skills area.

I agree that expectation needs to be kept in check. The very same people that complain about itinerary changes, would be the first to step up and complain if something happened because the did not change the itinerary. It’s just irritating!

Tomorrow!

You have to try and understand the mentality of the mob...cruise lines have deep pockets y'know...which begs the question of what happens to that mob when theres a real emergency on board...btw, not that it matters, but we cruised on the SPIRIT 2X..it was the first cruise ship we were ever on...and I liked it....a lot...speaking of which...I thought you were long gone AUNTIE...!!!

Cruising during hurricane season is always a risk. We know that and do it anyway. Sorry these people didn't get to their major destination, but at least they were kept safe. I understand the frustration but blaming the crew is a bit much.
