Did I get assigned a "bad" cabin?

I had posted this question before, but I hadn't logged in so I'm not sure if it actually went through. Sorry if I'm repeating. We are going on a cruise in December and our travel agent assigned us a room with a balcony, but there are inside cabins across the hall. I am concerned that it will be too noisy having people across the way as well as on either side of us. I'm a very light sleeper. Wondering if anybody has had cabins like this to tell me if I should be moving at my cabin while I still have a chance. Thanks

I mean, I cant say ive ever had a BAD room. It is a cruise afterall.

May certain locations suck? absolutely, however, if you let small inconveniences ruin a vacation, cruising may not be in the cards for you.

It brings my memory back to 2019, when I stumbled across a Junior Suite, on Majesty of the Seas, for $400/ Person for a 5 night cruise. Without even asking the boss, I jumped on it. In hindsight after the excitement wore off, I became concerned as to why every other JS was $600+ a night. I looked into the reviews, and found the room to be on the port side, with a sizable, shaded balcony, next to the forward elevators, and 1 deck down from the Windjammer.

EVERY REVIEW complained that they could hear the elevators, could hear the kitchen staff in the windjammer galley, and that the view was unacceptably obstructed by the ships launch.

I can honestly say, I never heard a thing, and the view was FAR from "Obstructed":

I guess what im trying to say, is I'll give any room a chance, if its at a good price. And I havent gone wrong yet.

Agreed, nothing above or below except other cabins...midships is good, and easy walk to elevators too..I'd book it if it was available. why don't you go to the Celebrity site and look it up?? you got to learn to do this stuff...it adds to the fun...sometimes T/A's can screw it up...who ya gonna blame? the T/A's? they don't know you...or yourself because you couldn't/wouldn't do it? You think WE were born doing this stuff???, you learn whats available, and where, and whats good to spend $$ on and whats not...yepper.......ENJOY!!!!

IMO - you might have a great cabin. Midship (elevators forward and aft, not too far), balcony, nice.

If this is your first Celebrity cruise, please, try the (extra cost) Le Petite Chef dining experience. It is - to me - one of my top 5 all time favorite dining experiences. By yourself - OK. With someone special - so memorable !! They have two seatings each night.

I hope you enjoy your cruise. I have only been on Celebrity once - but I loved it.

Watch the bartenders/mixologists (main bar, midship) perform their talent show at least once. Impressive !!

On board hint. If you like Pina Coladas - but want to feel manly - ask for a shot of Myers dark rum added to the top. The bartenders all know this. It has a special name I do not remember - but the taste - NICE !!! (and manly). No extra cost. Enjoy.

So sorry. Really new to all this. Will be sailing on the Celebrity Reflection. It's cabin number 1100 on Deck 10.

Luvit....if you can hear that question being asked, by all means answer it. Then again, you might wind up sitting next to them at dinner! Yuk yuk!

Take ear plugs, muffs.

Seriously ? Even the Captain of the ship probably has crew members sleeping next to him (or her - Captain Kate comes to mind). In my small number of cruises, I have yet to find a cabin totally isolated from any neighbor.

Is this your first cruise? The ship makes noises. The Ocean makes noises, Some noises are pleasant comforting sounds to some. Some noises are truly distractions. Kids running up/down the passageways screaming, the 68-year old next door with the 22-year old wife, the couple's discussion after the wife's question - does this dress make me look fat ?? -- tons of possibilities we have no control over. And happy to be in our cabin - not theirs.

Repeating -- take ear plugs, ear muffs.

Agree completely. Plus if there’s a blank wall across from your cabin, it can be a doorway for cleaning crew and that’s more noisy (usually) than fellow passengers. There’s no guarantee that your neighbors will be quiet or noisy, but definitely the galley, dining room, disco, theater etc. will be noisy.

Never been an issue for us. We use Inside cabin only, Never have been disturbed by those beside or across from us. Like Yankee said. Look at your ships deck plans. What is above you makes a difference. Having a disco overhead will disturb you cabin time.

Well, since you neglected the ship and cabin number, I guess I'll just gaze into my crystal ball and say no, you probably weren't. Merely having cabins acrosss the "hall" or on either side is normal...I'd be way more concerned what was above and below you. You could look it up on the ships deckplans, its not hard at all.....but if you posted the info you left out, i'm sure you'll be helped...
