Cruise Credit

I cancelled a cruise last March, 10 days before all cruises were cancelled with Royal Caribbean. I received a cruise credit which is good until 12/31/21. I just read that RC has cancelled all cruises through April, yet they have done nothing top extend the cruise credit expiration date, which limits our choices. Has anyone seen anything on this subject that cruise line should at least provide you with a year to cash in those credits? I'm sure we are not the only one this impacts. Thanks

Not yet but I am sure that NCL and Carnival will follow suit shortly

OUTSTANDING!! doesn't impact us...but hope it affects a bunch on RC!! mebbe the others will follow....

So I just got this from Royal Caribbean:

We hope this email finds you healthy and safe. As you know, the current situation has been quite fluid for our industry. As we head into 2021, we know options have been a little limited for you to use your Cruise with Confidence Future Cruise Credit (FCC). Not to worry though! We want to make sure your credits don’t go unused, so we’ve extended your Future Cruise Credit sail by date to September 30th, 2022.

Now, you’ll have until April 30th, 2022 to apply your certificate to a Royal Caribbean International cruise that sets sail on or before September 30, 2022. This way, you’ll have even more sailings to choose from when planning that special cruise you’ve been waiting for!

Have you considered doing a Lift And Shift? They'll allow you to move your cruise up to a year in advance, and if I remember correctly, all you have to pay is the difference (if any) rather than the full price. You could contact RC to be sure.

Yeah, we looked into cancelling our Sept 2021 cruise as I strongly suspect it is a no go BUT we wanted to book Jan of 2022 and ..., yep .. our FCC is no good for that ... well darn.

Yes it is, hopefully we get an interesting answer. But since RC is so far strict on their credit dates, I'm not holding my breath on a positive reply.

This is an interesting thread.

NCL is using the same date, but if they announce additional cancellations, then the date MUST be adjusted. On the other hand, they don't HAVE to do anything. We had a large FCC "piece" left over, unused. Wanted to use it toward a cruise in 2022...got a resounding NO...in writing with some greasy apology....ended up having to rebook the NOV 21 cruise to use it...s/a game....They're killing the golden egg layers with their "policies"....Cruising is one of the ultimate indulgences...they should be a bit more accommodating to folks who are willing to tie up their $$ (and risk) going on future cruises.....

Agree

Good question! Following this to see the answer!Surprised
