Chat room

To Simon,

Does this site ever plan to add a chat room for members, I know I would stay on the site more if we could chat with regular posters, including yourself.

Thanks

I enjoy a good buzz Big Smile

I think we should all do this... more buzz

I'd use it... and it would be a great way for more interaction with cruisers on the same sailing to connect more personally. Honestly, I have more interaction with fellow passengers at FB through some of the cruiseline specific groups.

My wife would kill me.

and then book a solo cruise

I would be more into a Instant message system then a chat room. Chat room could be over run with kids.

I was looking back in this thread and saw that Simon mentioned several months ago that cruiseline.com was looking into adding a Private Message feature. Any update on that Simon? Wink

A CHAT room is a good idea but like john mentioned, because of the internet trolls (and yes, a few have signed up here in the past but were deleted), the chatroom would have to be manned by a moderator. That is going to require extra resources to be there when the chat room is open.

I'm notorious for addictive chat rooms. When I find a good one with relevant subject matters, I can be on them regularly. That being said....... watch out for some of them, the content shocks even me.

I agree with you Glo & John, this is a wonderful site where your views can be expressed. I have seen attacks on some of the other sites for no reason at all. I hope it continues and the not so nice folks stat on the other sites. As far as a chat room, I can see where it's merits. However, not so sure I would use it.

Agree it is a nice idea. Perhaps not top of the priority list but who knows what might happen in time. I was thinking about it and perhaps it's another way for people to connect prior to cruising... something related to the Roll Call and planning a get together. Right now, I have had no luck with the Roll Call. We am heading out in 8 days and despite having over 20 people on the Roll, no one responded to the Call. Does anyone else find that to be the case (different topic, I'll post this as a discussion in a moment).
