Carnival Cruise Line Made A Dining Change People Are Upset About (But Shouldn’t Be)

https://cruiseradio.net/carnival-dining-changes-how-much-extra-will-cost/

I agree wholeheartedly with this editorial. For the life of me I can't imagine how any one person could order [3] or more full dinner entrées at one time and finish ALL of them. I'm sure there are a few people on this planet who can accomplish that, but how many of them cruise? Don't people have a conscience any more? Doesn't wasting food bother them? Like the article states, just try pulling that nonsense in any sit down restaurant in the world and see how far you'd get.

My wife and I ordered more than one entrée only one time, and that was one that we split between us and even then it was difficult to finish everything. I managed to do it, but I was uncomfortable for while, and we skipped desert. You can still order two entrees, but even that seems excessive to me. There are other options. One can sometimes (it varies from ship to ship) order an "appetizer portion" or a half portion of two entrees.

If ya gotta pig out to feel like you got over on the cruise line, then either quit whining and pay the $5 extra for the third plate, or go to the buffet.

Sigh.... you're probably right. Sometimes I hold out hope that at least SOME things will go back to the way they were. In other words, I can be a rube.

Nah, they'll make you pay more for less...thats the grand plan...so how about inserting your card into an ice cream machine..get as much as you want...for a nominal fee....say...ummm...$5?....seems to be a popular number...if you think about it, 5 bucks for another entree is a bargain....

You may not have to suffer through that loss AP. I don't believe there is a huge cost savings in taking that away. That may be more of a supply chain issue, and when things improve I could see it as perhaps a negotiating chip by CCL. I think enough people will complain about the soft serve that they could bring back 24 hr availability, stating something to the effect like "OK, OK, we'll give you the 24 hour soft serve............ but you're still gonna pay the extra $5 for that 3rd lobster tail".

I think the biggest frustration for some (not me in this case) is those who want 3+ lobster tails. I've seen it several times. I personally prefer the shrimp. I will miss early mornig ice cream, since it doesn't start until 11:00. I have been known to add coffe to a cup of soft serve for a "morning mocha". My waist line is better for the unavailablity.

Good article. Thanks for sharing!
