Cabins with balconies or suites

I know that going on cruises is where you meet new people and things......but my family and I always choose a suite with a private balcony. For those times when we want to relax and chill without the crowds Love

If your looking for large balcony and more reasonable price...... on the Solstice class ship, the ships have some rooms that are on the angle where the ship slants out ______/ \_______ those cabins have triangle shape balconies that are much larger then the regular balcony cabins. I had one of those cabins on a transatlantic and we have 2 lounge chairs and plenty of room on the balcony.

For me, I do not think the suites would offer me enough to justify the price. I find the balcony rooms that I have had to be roomy enough. If my claustrophobia starts kicking in, I just step out on the balcony.

Of course if someone were to gift me a suite, I certainly wouldn't turn it down.Big Smile

I was looking at the celebrity "suites" There are some of the lower class suites that seem like a balcony... but a few others seemed nice with a separate sitting area before the balcony

For me it depends on the cruise. If it is a short cruise I'm fine with an inside cabin. For a long cruise with a lot of sea days like a transatlantic then I get a balcony cabin. When I did the Greek islands cruise the balcony was a waste of $$ because we were in port every day but one, We did not have time to enjoy the balcony as we were off the ship in port or out of the cabin for dinner, shows and bars.

Me, too!

I have never taken the route of a balcony or even a window as we are never in the cabin for any length of time. This year we booked a cabin with a window so I will see what I think about it. We like to be on the go, so I am concerned that a balcony would be a waste for us

yes, and it is heavenly

"Upgrade Fairy"? Cute!

My first cruise (a very long time ago) was a bunk cabin with a very small porthole. We we young and foolish and balconies were not in our price range. Didn't spend much time in the room.

My next cruise (and all since) have had balconies and I LOVE them. We also had a large group one time and got a NCL 3BR Garden Villa for a family cruise. GO FOR IT. If you have a large group and 6-8 people stay in the villa and the rest get inside rooms, the average price per person is less than a balcony and there is room for all in the villa (except to sleep)!

My next cruise is an outside window again and am hoping the upgrade fairy visits me. I will check to see if the offered room is OK but will be happy with the outside cabin as it is in December out of NYC and we will only have a few days where we would be on the balcony. I can tough it out if need be.

My BF loves listening to the waves at night...
