Best week ever after worst week ever.

So, let me start this beginning Monday, October 4th. I was sent home from work, sick and in pain. Covid test at work; negative. Monday eve, still sick, go to ER at7pm. Wife is nurse at hospital and after working 12 hours, she stayed with me. Doctor finally seen at 1130pm. ( wife still with me). Had CT scan, then scheduled for emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage. 2 am, wife finally went home, got my CPAP, did a load of laundry, back to hospital. She finally made it home to sleep at 3 am, then back at work at 630 am. ( She is an animal, right?) So, anyway, discharged Wednesday. Left Friday morning, driving to Galveston from Poplar Bluff Mo. Make it 320 miles, to Texarkana. Guy pulls out of gas station, and drives right into right side of car. probably totaled. Got to Enterprise to rent car. Are we the only people on Earth who didnt know about the rental car shortage? Any way, get rental car, but kid knew we were driving one way to galveston, but wrote it up as an "in-town". They were supposed to charge us an ADDITIONAL $600 "one-way fee". Finally make it Galveston, shaken, not stirred. Book train ride home Houston to Poplar Bluff. Galveston didnt come up as an option. $232 Uber to Houston on return, but thats another story. Cruise on Vista? A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Best cruise weve been on. Crew, waitstaff, and stewards all awesome. Kyndall Fire was the best Cruise director, if not the best person, we have ever seen. We have posted a review of the cruise Carnival Vista October 9th sailing. I almost cried when we had to leave. I think my wife actually did cry.

Update #3: I just got shot with Pfizer #3 yesterday, and so far, absolutely no symptoms.

Not even a sore arm! Also got my flu shot with like results.

I take wifey to doctor this afternoon to have her sutures removed. All is looking good

and I really have many great new friends here on Cruise Line and it's beginning to look

more and more like we are really going on the cruise on Nov.14! Flying out on Nov. 9 to Portugal.

Thank you all for your prayers and 'well wishes'. I'll happily drink a toast to each of you! Big Smile

I’m so glad you got to enjoy and relax on the Vista after such a horrible prior week!!

Glad you had a great cruise – thanks for sharing! Happy

Had "vax card" for proof of vax. Printed out confirmation of negative test. I am inclined to believe an email on phone from test provider is enough, as they will have a QR code in the email.

I don't have a second page either.

Perhaps the posts 11 and 12 said that there is no need to look for another page. Too much good news already.Sad

I have no idea what's going on here...the thing SAID there were 12 posts in here,,,the 11th and 12th on the second "page" except there is no second page....NERTZ, So I''ll try again....when you were asked about your vaccination status, did you actually show em the good ol shot card??? and when they asked for proof of the negative test, did you just show em your phone with a confirming test result, or did you have a hard copy for them?? So if you answered, it sure didn't post!!!!

Thanx!!!!!!!!!!!

OK>..just saw your review and a few other recent ones.....good stuff...makes me feel "better" about whats to come...I'm sure I'm not alone wondering what surprises our brave new infected world has in store for us cruisers!!! Now I really am counting down. This will be the first one in a looong time, and we snagged a HAVANA corner balcony.

Question for you...how did you produce "proof" of the vaccinations? that good ol shot card? and the negative covid tests? text message? they look at your phone? or hard copy from the place you got the test?

Good grief...what a thread!!!!! seems like everyone came out ok.......gotta go read that review after I sort thru some more posts...
