Bermuda culture question

This will be our first time to Bermuda. I'm trying to ask this question as 'delicately' as I can. We've been to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Labadee (Haiti) - and had experiences there in dealing with the locals (either on the street, or open-air markets) where we felt less than safe, or highly pressured to buy something. Are there similar situations in Bermuda, or any places or situations we should avoid?

You should ... this destination is like none of the others. Best a week long cruise with 3 days in port and 2 over nights. The ship becomes your hotel. There are shuttles and ferries running quite regular to and from the cruise port.

Haven’t been, yet! Someday!

I can’t wait til June 12th. Setting sail on the Summit to Bermuda. Haven’t been on a cruise since April of ‘18.

Rum and Dark & Stormy drinks are my favorites! so many corals, and caves plus sitting on the beach is divine! so relaxing and secluded.

And all of this above is why Bermuda would be considered my favourite destination

Oh that and it is one of the few places on this earth where you can purchase Black Seal Old Rum. One of the finest aged rums, GOSLINGS FAMILY RESERVE OLD RUM. Awesome ... absolutely awesome

The culture in Bermuda is absolutely amazing! Friendly and helpful to all ages. The wonderful people in Bermuda are one of a kind. Tourism is hugely welcome as there is singing and dancing throughout the island. This island is a dream island to see. The people you need to watch out for are those that disembark. Recommend everyone travel by bus or ferry to see the entire island. you will certainly experience a beautiful culture in Bermuda.

We love Bermuda especially because it is nothing like those other ports!!!

The people are friendly and the Island is very safe!!! The biggest crime they have is scooter theft and even that is usually kids taking them for a joy ride. The police say it isn't like anyone who commits a crime has somewhere to go on such a small island hahahaha.

With that said the prices on the island are "Very High" but everything has to be imported so the cost of living on the island is very high. Just give yourself a little more in the budget than you would normally for food, drinks and Souveniers on the island.

I've been there 5 times no issues.

Bermuda is unique out of the Atlantic islands that cruise line visit in that it more like visiting a medium size city in the USA or Canada in the way of culture. It's because tourism is low on the economical necessities as a business, to sustain the locals. It's not to say you won't be approached by a taxi driver, it's just they don't go for the hard sell tactics you might see on island that rely almost exclusively on tourist as a income stream. In fact other than the owners of boats tours almost everybody on the island has a primary job other than something that relates to tourism and the population is affluent enough to opt to take taxi as a commuting option, so for many guides and attractions tourism is just a "side hustle" providing extra money for them to be tourist themselves elsewhere. Hint ask a local how much the average home sells for (surprisingly it about $250k for a small bungalow w/ 2 bedrooms).

I agree with Wolfie. Bermuda is very safe. We are going there in June (12) on the Celebrity Summit.
