We have a port stop in Puerto Quetzal but can't seem to find many excursions that don't involve a 3 hour (R/T) bus ride. We aren't fans of bus rides with tons of people and through hills and winding roads, and not being able to see much due to people's heads (ha) and headrests and dirty windows. (We also suspect hubby picked up Covid on a bus tour last fall. Can't say for sure but it's the only time we spent in close proximity to others for any length of time.)
Anything we might be able to do that's closer? It looks like a pretty desolate port area, but maybe there's something we haven't heard about yet.
Oh, and we had considered taking a cab ourselves but then read of a story of passengers who did that and agreed to meet the driver at a certain time for the ride back to the port. The driver never showed up and they had a terrible time finding a way back because all of the taxis were waiting on the passengers to return to the ship. They were pretty frantic.
