Anyone planing a cruise on Virgin Scarlet Lady? (Not listed yet)
Has anyone seen pics of this vessel yet? Quite different! Can only imagine the cost for a cruise!!!
Not on our game plan yet. I suspect it will be geared more towards the younger crowd.
Not in our budget! Besides, I would like to see a few reviews of people who have been on the ship before even considering it.
The descriptions make it sound like it will be priced among the luxury lines - too expensive for my likes. I will keep an eye out on it though.
Just priced out 1 for Jan 17th, 21... 5 days out of Miami to Bimini, Bahamas and Puerto Plata, DR $3120 for 2 in a Terrace stateroom. Compared it to a Royal Caribbean cruise leaving Miami on Jan 24th, 21... also 5 days going to Laberdee,DR and CocoCay in a Deluxe Spacious Balcony (closet they had in cabin size to each other but still 20 sq ft smaller), Bahamas at $2025. To be fair I include the auto-grat amount since Virgin rolls that into the cabin price, as well as the price of the soda package, plus 2 specialty coffee 15 drink cards, and the Ultimate Dining package that Royal sells again since these are supposed to be things included with Virgins fare, alcohol is still speparate.
I just watched this video about it. It seemed like a fairly honest video.
From what I have heard of the pricing I will pass on it for now, it looks like it will be more expensive then premium lines like Celebrity or HAL. It does sound nice for no under 18 allowed, but the decor is just not my idea of a cruise ship.
Thanks for sharing this. It was very informative and confirmed some of my concerns.
You're very welcome. I hope you enjoy whatever cruise you decide to take!
I watched Emma's video last night too, and some of my concerns were confirmed as well. I don't think I would enjoy those convertible beds at all, and the pool is pitiful. My style very much leans modern so I love the look of everything, but if they've put form over function I don't like that, either - I love to be comfy haha. I saw someone yesterday say that if modern, hip, and upscale is what people are looking for, they can't imagine why anyone would choose Virgin over Celebrity Edge or Apex at this point. I've never sailed Edge either, but just from what I've seen I think I would agree right now.
