Any Info on when sailing will open to Hawaii?

My husband and I are sailing (15 day) October 22nd, 2020 to Hawaii, on board the Star Princess (round-trip from San Pedro, CA).

Princess has cancelled ALL cruises on the Star Princess right up to our sailing.

If we sail, we will be the first post-pause sailing for the Star Princess.

Even with many calls and emails to our Princess Travel Advisor last week, I cannot get an email or return phone call from her. Totally "radio silence". I'm really concerned that I'm looking at another cruise cancellation. This will be our third cancellation.

I just what to know before final payment is due and having to wait 90 days for refund of excursions.

Princess has been very good at FCC and refunds of excursions, even if it took a L-O-O-O-NG time.

Anyone "heard" anything?

I've scoured the internet and can't find anything reliable. The CDC has NOT been clear in when cruising can start up.

Thanks!

Wishing you the best!

We are booked on Koningsdam in November RT from San Diego. There are roughly 244,000 people, whose jobs depend on the cruise industry, who are out of work. The governor said they would open the state to tourism (not cruises) in August. Now that lockdown has apparently been extended. We are not optimistic. I hope you get to go! The ship will never be more sanitized than the first sailing back.

So unless you are related to the GOV of HAWAII or some such, you're probably not going anywhere...Ours is end of Nov out of NOLA and I wouldn't bet on that either...besides, the "first one" after supposed resumption would've given me pause....good luck...

I saw a news article a few weeks back where there was talk that said cruising might not resume till fall of 2021. You might possibly check the state to see what they have posted because from the sounds of things it appears that they are the ones in control of that.

Not much in terms of updates but it is an ongoing, evolving situation. Alaska is done for the 2020 season. The Caribbean may be opening some ports in the Fall but that is all I am hearing. Hope things work out for you.
