I have booked a studio cabin aboard the Norwegian Getaway for my 50th birthday (departing 25 July 2015). My actual birthday will be in Tortola, BVI. I cordially invite everyone who will be sailing on this cruise, especially those who will be staying in the Studio cabins, to join me in the celebration. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you, my fellow travelers, may offer in making this birthday cruise a most memorable occasion. I look forward to reading your replies. Thank you.

50th Birthday Aboard the Norwegian Getaway

Hi RoadWarrior7! Having sailed Norwegian Epic you know pretty much what to expect from the cruise in general. We have a friend who often sails solo and she absolutely loves staying in the Studio cabins and always makes friends with other solo cruisers in the Studio Lounge. As you meet people, see if they’d be interested in making plans to meet up again for dinner or drinks. You may want to dine at Teppanyaki one evening; the design of the table seems to encourage diners to interact. At the dining rooms let the hostess know you’d like to share a table with others, we’ve made lots of new friends that way.
Don’t hesitate to mention to officers you encounter how excited you are to be spending your milestone birthday aboard Norwegian Getaway. Seek out the past passenger host and tell them your first cruise ever was aboard Norwegian Epic and you loved it so much you had to book another Norwegian cruise for this special occasion. No one aboard the ship will be able to make your cruise even more memorable unless they know why it’s special for you.
Most importantly relax and enjoy your cruise. Happy Birthday and Happy Cruising!
I am already on two roll calls for this cruise and have yet to read any replies. Then again, there is the Studio Lounge which is literally steps away from my cabin. I'm sure I'll meet someone there.
Happy 50th, great way to do it. I do suggest joining a roll call and start talking in advance of the cruise. Enjoy!
I have not traveled single on NCL, but I know on Carnival they do have some dinner tables for single occupancy cabins so your not stuck odd man out with a large family.
I would suggest that you use the Ship Mate App for your phone, sign into roll call and post that your traveling single for your b-day, chat with people there before your cruise. Most ships have events for singles of all kinds and ages.
Since it is free style cruising try and make friends to have dinner and lunch with since there is no assigned seating. Eating alone is not very festive on your B-day.
Thank you for the early birthday greetings! The fundamental question is: How does a single guy like me make the birthday cruise into a most memorable experience? Any ideas?
Happy early birthday @RoadWarrior7! Enjoy the Getaway.
Happy 50th
I wanted to wish you an early Happy Birthday. I hope that you have a memorable time on your cruise. Wish that I was going too.
