Cruising from a Latin American Port
As usual, the staff and ship (RCCL Vision of the Seas) were outstanding. Leaving from Colon, Panama, however, was not. Have to fly into Panama City at least the day before. 50 miles to Colon. Not impressed with either Panama City or Colon. Just not my cup of tea. Of the 2100+ passengers, only 300 or so were English as their primary language. All of the staff spoke English. But, a vast majority of the passengers were at best, inconsiderate, sometimes rude. Ports of call, Cartegena, Columbia (Would not go back), Curacao (Nice), Aruba (great), and Bonaire (great). My next cruise will leave from a US port and most likely will be Royal Caribbean.
Vision of the Seas
R bar. Best drinks and service. Also, the prepaid drink card is great.
Dickenson Bay beach very good and the beach bar and grill good and reasonable.
Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
Easy island to get around. We rented car. However, there is an OK beach just to the left of the end of the pier where you can swim and snorkel.
Beach Break beach very primitive. Lounge chairs old.
Rained all day, did not get to see or do much.
Orient Beach great.
