Princess Cruises Shares First Look at Dining Coming to Sun Princess

Princess Cruises has shared new details about the food and beverage options coming to its new ship Sun Princess. The Sphere class vessel will offer a whopping 29 new and signature restaurants and lounges. 

Guests will find a number of exciting new eateries as well as returning Princess guest favorites on their upcoming Sun Princess cruise when the ship makes its debut in 2024. 

“Outstanding food and drink at exceptional value are a cornerstone of the Princess experience. Sun Princess elevates the entire portfolio of offers and wraps them in restaurants, bars and sundecks that reveal stunning views, ocean vistas and sunshine, ice and wildlife,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president. “Our chefs will serve up vibrant flavors, pour perfectly crafted cocktails and provide personalized service that is second to none.”

Sun Princess will have multiple dining decks, serving something for breakfast to late-night snack time.

The ship will offer a new and exciting main dining experience at the Horizons Dining Room area. Horizons Dining Room area. This three-story main dining venue has a capacity of 1,931 guests. The space is open and flexible with great water views. Each dining level will serve guests multicourse meals from friendly wait staff. The levels each have their own personalities, offer different dining experiences, and range in levels of formality, including the Horizons Diner on Deck 8 which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. 

Guests staying in Sun Princesses’ Suite areas will receive access to a special lounge and two restaurants - Signature Restaurant, Signature Lounge, and Reserve Collection Restaurant. 

Following is a preview of more of the dining options coming to Sun Princess.  

Piazza

The Piazza level on Sun Princess is home to a number of bars and lounges perfect for grabbing a cocktail or just enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. 

Bellini’s Cocktail Bar– In the center of the Piazza is Bellini’s Cocktail Bar, a venue inspired by the beauty of gems and geodes. This elegant bar is the perfect spot for celebrating serving tasty cocktails and champagne. It’s the perfect spot for enjoying the Piazza entertainment and panoramic views from the Sphere window.

Coffee Currents–Skilled baristas will whip up coffees, espressos, and lattes at this venue on the first level of the three-story Piazza. Enjoy bakery goodies at Coffee Currents as well as afternoon tea complete with scones. 

Good Spirits At Sea– Good Spirits takes guests around the globe serving cocktails with farm-fresh, local ingredients from around the world. On Sun Princess, this Princess-favorite lounge is a distinct venue, serving an immersive Martini experience as well as an immersive royal tea experience.

O’Malley’s Irish Pub- This popular Irish pub, also found on Enchanted Princess, will serve mouthwatering bar bites and drinks, set with live music and entertainment. Located in the middle of the ship, adjacent to the Piazza, and is open for lunch, dinner, and late-night fare. 

 

Specialty Dining

Crown Grill– The iconic Crown Grill experience is at the next level on Sun Princess with a modern, sleek steakhouse design and theater-style kitchen. Serves top-quality beef cuts, chops, and seafood.

Kai Sushi – Kai Sushi is a modern sushi bar adjacent to the heart of the Piazza, with great views from the Sphere window. The spot will serve a range of sushi and sashimi dishes. 

Sabatini’s– This Princess-favorite Italian-style eatery features an inspired interior design with bistro-style nooks and a dramatic dining room. Enjoy a trattoria-style dining experience of Sicilian fried mozzarella rice balls scented with black truffle, creamy Burrata Caprese, Beef Carpaccio, and many more mouthwatering dishes.

Umai Teppanyaki – Exclusive to Sun Princess, the new Umai Teppanyaki will offer top cuisine and a dining show. Guests will enjoy skilled teppanyaki masters creating dishes of meats, poultry, fish, and vegetables on the iron “Teppan” grill. A three-act show begins with a selection of starters (Pork Belly Yakitori or Spicy Tuna on the Rocks), progresses to entrées, and then takes a bow with desserts like the Chocolate Bento Box dessert with green tea ice cream.

The Catch by Rudi- This pop-up dinner concept from renowned Chef Rudi Sodamin will feature treasures from the sea like Oysters on the Half Shell with red-and-pink peppercorn Mignonette, Calamari with seasoned panko coating and lemon aioli, or Mussels Provençale. 

Casual/Outdoor Dining

World Fresh Marketplace – World Fresh Marketplace has received an elevated look and design on Sun Princess. The all-day gastronomy experience (located adjacent to the Piazza) has been designed for enhanced traffic flow. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner at nine food stations ranging from Mongolian barbeque, Tapas, Asian stir fry, and Paninis. 

International Cafe – This Princess favorite serves up convenient eats around the clock.

The Promenade –The Promenade features al fresco dining with great water-side views. Offers a laid-back beach vibe, serving quick bites.

Lido– The Lido Deck eateries have a laid-back resort vibe with a number of good eats, including  sizzling burgers, bright salads, spicy tacos, and delicious cocktails. At the Lido is Coffee & Cones, serving gourmet ice cream sandwiches, free ice cream cones, and specialty coffees and teas. 

Two more eateries coming to Sun Princess will be unveiled by Princess at a later date - a high-end specialty restaurant located on deck 17 overlooking the wake of the ship and another new dining experience midship on Deck 8.

Sun Princess is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Bookings for 2024 inaugural cruises in the Mediterranean, Europe, and Caribbean are now on sale.
