Holland America Line Announces 2025 Canada and New England Itineraries

Holland America Line released details of its 2025 Canada and New England season. For the year, the cruise line will offer longer voyages in the region as well as new port stops. The highlight of the season will be a 25-day cruise that includes stops in Greenland and Iceland. 

2025 Canada and New England voyages from Holland America line will depart from Boston, Montreal or Quebec City, from May through October. This timing will allow guests to explore the beauty of the region in both the summer and fall seasons. 

Holland America will position two ships to sail these voyages for 2025 - Zuiderdam and Volendam. Zuiderdam will begin Canada/New England itineraries starting in May 2025, offering an earlier start to the season. Both ships will sail the region in the fall for scenic foliage cruising through the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Saguenay Fjord. The size of both vessels will allow for cruising the scenic St. Lawrence River, with calls in Montréal and Québec City on nearly every itinerary.

"With Zuiderdam beginning in May, we will slightly increase our capacity in the region from previous years and add more verandah staterooms available for booking," said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line's chief commercial officer. "Plus, our itineraries present several choices for a truly unique vacation that explores a culturally-rich region from an easy gateway for an extended season, including the popular fall foliage and longer voyages up to Greenland and Iceland."

Following is a look at the itinerary highlights by ship for Holland America Line’s 2025 Canada and New England season. 

Zuiderdam

From May - October 2025, Zuiderdam will sail seven-day cruises of the Atlantic Coastline. The ship will offer two itineraries - "Canada & New England: UNESCO Sites & Québécois Nights" (Boston to Québec City) and "Canada & New England Circle: New Brunswick" (roundtrip Boston). Select voyages include late-night departures from Quebec City, Portland, or Charlottetown. 

Zuiderdam will offer a 15-day Atlantic Coast cruise sailing from Fort Lauderdale to Quebec City in May 2025. This cruise will feature an overnight in Quebec City, a call on Yorktown, and includes late-night departures from Newport, Maine; and Charlottetown.

Volendam

Volendam will cruise between Boston and Montréal in summer and fall on a series of 10- and 11-day sailings. New for the season is the 11-day "Canada and New England Circle" cruise, offered roundtrip from Boston or Montreal. The roundtrip Montreal cruise calls on Halifax, St. John's, St. Pierre, Charlottetown, Sydney, and Quebec City. The roundtrip from Boston on Volendam sails to the same ports, however swaps Quebec City for Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Cap-aux-Meules, îles de la Madeleine in Magdalen Islands. 

Holland America will offer 14-day repositioning cruises on Volendam between Montréal and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The north-bound voyage will sail in June and the southbound will sail in September. Both cruises include a maiden call on Yorktown (Williamsburg, VA). 

As mentioned above, a highlighted offering of the 2025 Canada and New England season will be a  25-day Legendary Voyage on Volendam, named  "Canada, New England, Greenland and Iceland". This cruise will depart on July 12, 2025, sailing roundtrip from Boston. The Legendary Voyage makes six calls around Iceland, and 11 port visits in Greenland, Maine, Nova Scotia, Labrador, and Newfoundland. New for the season will be a call in the port of Eastport, Maine.

Bookings for Holland America Line’s 2025 Canada and New England season are now open.
