Are you on the fence and asking yourself, ‘Why go on a cruise vacation?” We would like to say we understand, but with so many awesome benefits available on a cruise, we would be lying. We’ve already debunked all of the cruise myths that could keep you from setting sail. So we teamed up with Morgan O'Brien from the Very Unofficial Travel Guides on YouTube to take you through the best reasons why you should take a cruise for your next vacation.

Cruising is an easy way to explore new destinations

How many times are you going to say, “I wish I could see this place at least once in my life!”

If flight, hotel, food, and more are keeping you from visiting your dream destinations, you can always book a cruise. How many vacation types allow you to explore multiple destinations and only unpack once?

A cruise gives you the opportunity to travel all over the world. There’s no time crunch to catch the ferry, flight or train, you simply coast along in your floating hotel and wake up in a new destination. If you need some help, we can give some guidance on picking a cruise destination. It also allows you to sample destinations.

You might have thought about visiting St. Thomas for a long vacation with the family, but you weren’t sure if it was worth it. Try it out on a cruise and to see you want to make it a future vacation destination. Cruising is also an excellent way to reach exotic destinations like Alaska and the South Pacific.

A lot is included in your cruise fare

People take a cruise for many reasons. But, I think one of the most popular is how convenient they are and what is included in your cruise fare.

A normal vacation consists of planning all of your meals and activities, how you’re going to get there, and how you’re going to pay for them. That doesn’t sound like much fun.

How is a cruise different? You get your room, meals, transportation, and entertainment all together for less you than would than staying in a hotel. If you choose to cruise with a luxury cruise line, the more that will be included in your cruise fare. We haven’t even started with the onboard activities.

Cruising appeals to all ages

No matter how old, or young, you are there’s something for every member of the family. Contrary to what you’ve heard, cruising is not just a bunch of senior citizens playing bingo and shuffleboard.

But, there is some of that. Young kids and teens won’t have to just chill out by the pool all day with mom and dad all day at sea. With teen clubs and kids programs, they can hang with kids their age doing age-appropriate activities. When the kids are playing, adults can do…well... Adult things.

With childcare options available onboard, mom and dad can enjoy some much needed alone time.

There’s a cruise for everyone

There is a cruise line for every type of traveler.

Some cruise lines specialize in excellent dining, some in onboard activities for the adrenaline junkie, and some are known for their entertainment where you can see hows straight from Broadway. Cruise lines are investing millions in updating older ships and building new ships to meet the needs of all types of vacationers.

The active traveler and thrill seeker can conquer a rock-climbing wall, take on a surf-simulator, or muster up the courage to take on a gravity-defying water slide.

Rest and relaxation are definitely not hard to find with many major cruise lines creating adult-only areas - like The Haven from Royal Caribbean and the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat from Carnival - made just for this purpose. If you have a specific hobby, you can check out one of the many themed cruises. You would be surprised to find what is out there.
