Review summary

We were a family of 6 including our 6-year-old grandson who was a first time cruiser. We all had a wonderful time, and there was something for everyone to do. I highly recommend Oasis of the Seas even to those who prefer smaller ships. It was an awesome experience, and I will never shy away from a mega ship again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Best we have had on RC.

American Icon Grill

5 out of 5

Food was wonderful - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Service was great.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Swimming, miniature golf, rock climbing wall, ice skating, carousel, shuffleboard. We enjoyed them all. My only criticism is that the shuffleboard was shut down quite a bit due to activities in the Aqua Theater, and the poles were in very bad condition.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great shows with lots of variety.

Ship Quality

Oasis felt like a much smaller ship because there is so much space for people to spread out.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had 3 people in our cabin and there was plenty of clothes hanging space. It was a comfortable room, and we loved the balcony particularly when coming into port. Our attendant kept the room in very good condition.

Ship tip

Make sure to make all show and dining reservations several months before you sail.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

I thought this might be a boring port, but there was lots to do. We had a lot of fun here. We did the Dragon's Tail, and it was great.

Falmouth, Jamaica

Not good proximity to things to do. 3 in our party did the zip lining and tubing. They said the zip lining was great. Tubing, not so great.

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to Chankanaab for the Dolphin encounter and the day pass. It was wonderful. They really spent time with the dolphins. The only down side was the price of the dolphin photos and people weren't allowed to take any of their own photos. Photos were $40 each or the package for $140. Food was delicious as were the drinks. The sea lion show was great, too.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and painless.
