Review summary

This was our third cruise and our third cruise line. For the first three days we weren't sure we were going to survive because the food was terrible. Overcooked, undercooked, cold, brown lettuce, etc. We spoke to the person in charge and immediately noticed changes. By the end of the cruise we were really pleased with the food.

We enjoyed how this cruiseline organized the guests for port trips, by having us meet at certain times and then going off the ship together. We really appreciated the cold washcloth and cold drink offered on the pier upon out return.

Security was great on the piers - including the sniffer dogs and security with machine guns.

Too bad smoking is still allowed on the ship.

We didn't appreciate being hit with the tip at the end of the cruise - somehow we had thought it was included. The staff were good at negotiating the amount of tip we wanted to pay.

Lots of variety in the programs offered on the ship.

Some problems with poor meals initially, but that was resolved and the food ended up being quite enjoyable by the end of the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff went above and beyond every time we encountered them.

Ship Quality

Ship was clean but is showing it's age.

Cabin / Stateroom

Amazingly tiny and we could hear all the entertainment....

Ship tip

Best place to sit in the shade is under the lifeboats on the non-smoking side! They need more chairs there, though.

Beautiful county. BE careful of your footing when walking the streets.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Took a scenic bus ride to a small town where they had children dance, etc. Short, but restful.

Puerto Chiapas (Tapachula), Mexico

Ruins! I loved them!

Huatulco, Mexico

Great ruins! Loved to see them. Be prepared for mosquitos. Vendor prices are very high. Never bought a thing and they didn't seem to want to bargain.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We hired a cab with another couple for $20.00 a person plus tip for four hours. The cabbie showed us a great time, lots of scenery and shopping. He knew good eateries as well but we didn't want to spend time eating.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Trip toTodos Santos was amusing. How many times will we ever get to eat breakfast in the Hotel California?
