A: No formal dining but you can be formal anytime you want. Some of the specialty dining requires long pants & collar shirts. We liked Manhattan as our go to complementary…. But O’Sheehans was great too. Be sure to get reservations for restaurants as... soon as you can to make sure you get times you want. The Mediterranean cruise is port focus cruise…. Very exhausting and very awesome. You will have great time… we did! Our phone data coverage was not very good in Europe so we got lost a lot… haha. We stayed in Rome a few days prior.See More

A: No formal dining night. a lot of people do get dress up and a lot do not. you would not be out of place if you did fancy dress. I would suggest to pack a good selfie stick. So many great photo opportunities in the Mediterranean and you want to get as... much in the picture as possible :) if your cruise goes to Messina make sure to check out the Astronomical clock at Messina Cathedral in Piazza Del Duomo. Be there just before noon to see the full show :)See More

A: Norwegian ships never have any mandatory formal dining nights, that's why they are called freestyle cruising.

A: Just sailed on the epic out of PR, it was fast and easy ! Got there for 11:00am, on the ship by 11:40 and had our cabin at around 2:00 !!! Just enough time to grab lunch and a first drink 🍹

A: Last time we sailed from San Juan was March 2019 and sailing again from there in 3 weeks. Last time, boarding process struck me as the easiest of any port we have sailed from. Every bad experience I have read about was during the period when Covid... resting was required. I’m expecting it to be similar to the 2019 experience. I will keep you posted. Btw, it’s only 2 of us, so not a large group.See More

A: we got on quick enough but had to wait till 2 to get in our cabin.

A: you will be fine! RCC & NCL dock at different locations. Just show up at your boarding time, even when testing was being done we did not have a problem with boarding in San Juan. Boarding usually starts around 11, so make your time after that and... you won't have to sit around and wait.See More

A: Every time I’ve been to a ship gym I’ve always found space to do my exercises. Be flexible as if it’s busy you need to be able to adjust your routine. I usually avoid the peak times like first thing in the morning. That’s the worst time to go.

Answered by InnocentDaz on February 24, 2023

A: yes, alot of people use the gym! There is a walking track on most every ship, so that is nice but don't expect to show up at the gym and get on any machine without a wait!

A: When I last sailed on Epic, Sept 2021, the game show was not in the schedule. That being said it was a cruise during covid so I guess not all activities where back or being played due to a lack of guests onboard ships. It was played the time I was on... it before, a few years back. On a recent sailing with Norwegian Star the game was scheduled and played. So there’s a good chance it’ll be on the schedule, depending on the length of your cruise.See More

A: No! Don't expect great wifi on any ship. Even with the paid packages, you are in the middle of the ocean. It is spotty at best.

A: Some do, some don't! Just like any other formal night. We always do, but that's just us.

Answered by crusin4gramma on November 14, 2022

A: Yes it is! and soooo good!

Answered by bbhellriegel on November 14, 2022

A: The answer is actually, No! You don't need the internet package to use the app for all things onboard, schedules, menues, shows and such. You will however not be able to use the internet without the package.

Answered by crusin4gramma on November 13, 2022

A: Cruisin4gramma is right - you can use the app without internet - I seem to remember you can use for all mentioned plus messaging too - if you need to message each other/other cabins while on board it’s quite handy to have that without the need to buy... internet for everyone.See More

A: OMG! We were to meet a couple in Puerto Rico who used same day NCL flights with guaranteed boarding—-WRONG— we were still in port when they arrived after delayed flights from ATLANTA. They tried to get thru immigration and the boarding process. They... knocked and knocked on the doors. Mind you we were still in port for almost 3 more hours before the ship left. They were locked out when arriving 5 minutes after the latest boarding times-DENIED boarding. Because of Required Covid testing they were unable to board at a future ports. This was February- Insurance has not AND Norwegians guaranteed boarding-still fighting to get reimbursed.See More

A: My strong advice, go one or two days early. NCL will allow that. We almost missed last year due to a canceled flight.

A: Mark, I'm assuming NCL booked your flight, you are at least an hour from the airport at the port. However, since resuming cruising, you get to carry your own bags off (no crowd at bag pickup). They should have protocol for cruisers with early flight,... but remind them you need to get off early. Hope you have a great cruise!See More
