Fabulous Mediterranean Cruise by mhanchuruck5237

The cruise was a smooth process from start to finish! Booking through Travel club was so easy and the travel agents were all sooo helpful over the phone. Getting on and off the boat at each stop was smooth and easy!

Very good -- recommend splurging on Yacht Club by reenie2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Fantasia

Strongly recommend splurging on Yacht Club experience. Great staff. Biggest complaint was that instead of being on the same side of ship as all other Yacht Club facilities, for some reason the main dining room was way on the complete opposite side of the ship, so we didn't even bother walking all the way over there for breakfast or lunch -- would've been better if it were on our side of the ship, where everything else was. Not a huge deal, but definitely something that could be improved.

Amazing cruise on the Med with MSC! by kgaddis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia

This cruise was amazing. We loved the MSC Fantasia ship, especially the yacht club with the excellent service and all of the amenities. We also loved each of the ports on this itinerary and we would highly recommend it. We definitely will be back with MSC, and would like to visit other ports in the Mediterranean as well.

Wonderful Ports of Call by axa116

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia

This cruise was definitely all about the ports. They did not disappoint & in fact, they left me wanting more. There are so many shore excursion options & we didn't have time to do everything at the ports that we would've liked, so we'll definitely be looking forward to returning again! The food on board was lackluster but the customer service made up for it. Onboard entertainment was sparse but again, we were there to enjoy the beauty of the ports & had an overall fantastic experience.

Winter cruise in a wintery place. Got a good deal and enjoyed it, for the most part. by KMStutz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Fantasia

We had the biggest mini-suite we’ve ever when cruising, including a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom. No balcony (but good views from front of ship) but really didn’t want one, given winter sailing. Only one sea day. We did all our own excursions, except for Marseille (took bus trip and walking tour in Aux-de-Provence). Ship was picking up and dropping off guests at each pork , making embarkation and debarkation very easy.

A good basic inexpensive trip by tmhtruong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia

All cities are clean and with almost no homeless. Felt safe to walk around (but always be wary) and they all have a good Christmas feel. If you don't expect much of the food and the dining experience, and if you do your homework about what to do, it's a very good trip. MSC needs to work on the food and perhaps have more beef available?

Multilingual International Transatlantic Cruise by russpaige

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Transatlantic

MSC Fantasia is an enormous cruise ship, so don't be surprised if it takes a while to learn your way around. When MSC Fantasia sails from the Mediterranean, expect to hear lots of Italian and Portuguese spoken on board, as well as some German and Spanish. The Main Dining Room does a good job of assigning people who speak the same language to dinner tables for regular dining.

Acceptable with Issues by jebuonag

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Transatlantic

The cruise was decent. The facilities dated but maintained well. The gym was spacious and we'll appointed, but oftentimes crowded. The buffet selection was good and plentiful. Our cabin steward was awesome. The front desk personnel were not at all accommodating or friendly. When I suggested to one staff person that she wasn't understanding my concern, she began telling me how she spoke 6 languages and started repeating herself in each one of them. That was amusing be degrading at the same time. I sat there in line for quite some time and my experience was not unusual in the least.

upsetting, unexpected and enjoyable by jacannon66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Like I said the cruise line did not communicate the need for a pre-cruise COVID test; thank god we decided to go to the ship early. Also, they never sent any notice that the cruise would not allow you to leave the ship at any port without buying an excursion. Honestly I think they should have offered something in return for this lack of experience or let you know and allow for a cancellation even if it was a credit for a future trip.

Good experience by antonioro

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

In general I will give a 7 out of 10 for this cruise. In the past I did Carnival, NCL, Disney and Celebrity, all of them are much better than MSC. I selected MSC only because I was at Brazil, but I don't think I will select it again in the near future

Great port of calls by rimajab

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Beautiful ship, great staff and service! The evening shows were beautiful but no variety. The entertainment staff very good but the activities were limited. I did not enjoy having kids running around in the bars casino and on the dance floors after 10! No adult section. Kids in the zen pool area all the time !!!

Mediterranean Cruise (Barcelona Roundtrip) by patch1958

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

My first MSC cruise so to compare it to the others: Embarkation was a nightmare. This is the first time I've cruised where people embark and disembark at all ports. That being said, this process is painful. When you need to leave for a tour, the lines to leave are very long because the other stations are waiting for people to embark. That was the worst part of the cruise. We booked the Yacht Club and it really was a top experience. We met other passengers on the ship who were not part of the YC and they had many complaints. Our YC experience included everything (alcohol, 24 hour butler & concierge) minibar, robes, spa sauna) and prime seating on tours and in the shows. The only extras were WiFi, massages and a specialty restaurant. Others on the ship has to pay for water! The suite was small; equal to a RCCL balcony room, but as previously stated, the amenities were bountiful. We had our own restaurant, pool, bar and elevator. I am looking to book another YC cruise with MSC. RCCL has competition in my book.

Overall experience was okay. It left a lot to be desired for me. Not sure if I would cruise again based off this cruise alone.

Western Mediterranean Honeymoon Cruise by jjkulka

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Fantasia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

MSC does a great job of taking care of their guests. They get a bad rap in the US because of the cultural differences between European and US ways of doing things. They treat guests with sincerity and respect.
