Ship: Mariner of the Seas

Review summary

The ship exhibited class in its staff and design, without going too far into the "dressy" or very casual. Excellent service from almost all of the staff, and well organized.

We were hustled in a restaurant which cost us a lot of money for a simple lunch. A learning experience, but you would hope they wouldn't do that. Otherwise, Crete was charming and a good entree to the tout.

The entire Ephesus experience is worth the trip. Bring your imagination and let yourself go back to that period of time. Wonderful and amazing.

Visit the Western Wall; it's a spiritual experience, regardless of who you are. We also took a tour underground to the excavations under the walls. Really something to see at least once.

Naples, Italy

We visited the Amalfi Coast . . . a great and beautiful ride.

Rhodes, Greece

Maybe the ship could provide better maps for "walk-around" passengers. Difficult to find what we were looking for.

Pros: Classy surroundings and staff. The itinerary: this was our second cruise and the port selection and schedule were terrific.

Cons: The ongoing "disco" type music was very loud and overwhelming if one was in the vicinity of the bands. It was hard to find a nice quiet place near the top decks where we could read and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
